Simple Sympathy

2013_02_01IMG_0944 Today’s post is a card that I have had designed in my head for awhile and decided to use it to make a masculine sympathy card.  A dear friend of our family tragically lost his 93 year old father in a car accident this week so I needed to make a sympathy card.  It seems like I never have sympathy cards on hand and that would make sense because that is when you need an unplanned card quickly.

For this card, I cut the Window Frames Framelits #129021 3 times using whisper white cardstock, Island Indigo cardstock textured with the Vine embossing folder#130492, and the Sycamore Street DSP #127540.  Both the Vine folder and the Sycamore Street DSP are free items from the Stampin Up Sale-A-Bration catalog.  I then cut each of the window frames and re-pieced them to form the window frame.  I stamped the sentiment using the So Sorry stamp set #126527 and I used the Pappilion Potpouri #123759 and the coordination butterfly punch to create the butterfly.  To finish the card added a small snip of the pool party ruffled ribbon and pearls to add dimension.

This is a wonderful sympathy card. They are always so hard to make.
