I would have to agree that the packaging of a gift is very important. Cammie made the cute scissor and tissue ensembles to give away to her hostesses and packaged them so that you could see the yummy Stampin Up fabrics and made cute toppers using the Friendship Preserves stamp set and coordinating framelits that will be available starting August 1, 2012 when the Stampin Up Holiday catalog goes live. If you would like to view the holiday catalog online it will be available here on 1 August so be sure to check back. If you would like a paper copy mailed to you then send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
and provide your name and mailing address and I will be sure to drop one in the mail to you.
Today’s cards are the cards that Cammie completed at the Basic Brayer class in Lawrence KS a few weeks ago. The class was taught by the Brayer Goddess and fellow Stampin Up demonstator), Michelle Zindorf
. If you have never seen Michelle’s work and detailed instructions you are missing out. Michelle has mastered the fine art of using ink and a brayer and Cammie completed these 3 cards and also 3 in Michelles advanced class and is working on developing her on brayer style and hopes to have a brayer workshop soon.
This week we got the meet the teacher and back to school information in the mail. That makes me sad and my son even sadder because that means the lazy days of summer will soon be behind us. Today’s card is a tribute to summer – a pinwheel is a true icon of summer. This card is easy to make and is perfect for using up scraps. The background is textured using the all new Fancy Fan Folder #127751 from the Stampin Up catalog. The pinwheel is created by punching 4 – 1 1/4 inch squares #119865 from different DSP patterns, Round the corners using the 3/16″ corner rounder punch #119871 then cut them diagonally and form the pinwheel shape. Add a center using the smallest of the Floral Frames Framelits #127012 and the Itty Bitty Punch #118309. This card is the perfect card to send as an RAK (Random Act of Kindness) card to brighten anyone’s day.
My family is so excited for the start of the summer Olympics so I decided to make a quick card to send to some family and friends that share my love for the Olympics. The card is simple but fun. I challenge anyone to use the Olympic Colors to make a card and share it on my blog.
Bring on the opening ceremony GO Team USA!

Merry Christmas in July! I had my Christmas in July card cafe last weekend and while I was prepping for that I decided that I was going to make my own Christmas cards too. I have a huge jumpstart on them and want to have them done by the end of August. That is a huge goal since I make about 150 cards but I am well on my way. I was motivated by the Be of Good Cheer DSP#126896 in the 2012-2013 Stampin Up Annual Catalog. This paper has got to be my favorite Christmas DSP in a long while. Then when I saw the new Holiday Catalog and all the wonderful stamps and accessories I went to the drawing board to create cards. I decided that I was not going to stop until I used up every sheet of the DSP. Mission accomplished! I created 11 different designs that I will share over the next several months but today I am focusing on some items that are available in the Stampin Up Holiday Catalog that goes live on August 1st. The image is stamped with the Star Tree #126784 single stamp and is then cut and matted using the Labels Collection Framelits #125598. I then added the piercing using the Festive template #127857 and piercing tool #126189and piercing mat #126199 to provide a homespun look. The banners are hand cut and the card is finished by using Copic markers to stain the Stampin Up rhinestones,

I am hoping that posting 2 cards using the Raining Flowers stamp set that we might get rain of some kind. This summer has been hot and dry so please rain! Cammie made both of these cards using the Stampin Up Raining Flowers stamp set #122767 and 2 of the new In Colors: Summer Starfruit and Primrose Petals. These 2 colors look fabulous together.
Other stuff used on these cards include the new apothecary accents framelits # 127003 and the bow on the 2nd card is made from paper and is super cute and less bulky than a traditional bow.
Todays post is a very pretty sympathy card using the Elegant Bird die #125593 from the 2012-2013 Stampin Up Annual Catalog. The wing of the dove is textured with the elegant lines embossing folder #119277. The banner is cut using the Petal Cone die #121810 and stamped with the Loving Thoughts stamp set #125845 and accented with the Little Leaves Sizzlits #114511.

Although we did not attend the Stampin Up convention in Salt Lake City this week, we followed the action through the Stampin Up demonstrators website. Stampin Up announce some exciting news about an upcoming promotion for MDS and finally committed to the release date for MDS2 software. August 1 is the date to purchase the new software that is filled with over 75 upgrades including conversion to svg cutting files. WOO HOO.
PLUS for the entire month of August Stampin Up is offering 31% off select printable products. With that being said, today’s card is an MDS hybrid card that I designed for a friends wedding. The card front was designed in MDS and printed and then I added it to a card base and “blinged it up”.
