Bee Mine

Reposted with the card image.

I started making my Valentines and today’s post is a fun design.  Don’t be fooled by the simple design because I made sure it had lots of layers. Here’s the Buzzzzzz on what I used to make this card. I used crushed curry, white and black as my color palette. To continue with the bee theme, I used the all new Hexagon Hive #132965 Thinlit from the Stampin Up occasions catalog and cut it from whisper white.  I layered the hive on the crushed curry base.  I added a thin black strip and a piece of the fabulous crushed curry Chevron Ribbon #130019. For my focal piece, I stamped the bee using the Stampin Up Crazy Mixed Up Love #131071 stampset from the annual catalog.  I added a heart punched from the Owl Builder punch #118074.  I matted it on a black circle cut using the circle framelits #130911 and then affixed that atop of a decorative label framelits #130102.

Even more important Buzz…. if you are having trouble with your Hexagon Hive or other Stampin Up Thinlits try layering a piece of waxpaper between the cardstock and the die.  It really works!  After making this card 1 time I was about to give up and then I researched the problem and gave the wax paper a try.  I made several more of this card an a few other designs that I will post later.
