Right side of the Barn

2014_01_31IMG_0543 (3) Well I used my yesterdays card as my inspiration to make this sympathy card for my aunt who lost her husband, my dear Uncle Rick, who my son referred to as “Barn Man”.  To honor Barn Man I chose to make an old barn with 2 etched hearts symbolizing the 59 years of marriage and the love for their 7 boys and their families.

I used soft suede ink on 2 pieces of crumb cake cardstock using the direct to paper method.  I then used the Hardwood Background stamp and espresso ink and stamped the barn on both pieces of cardstock.  I then used the Hearts framelits #125599 to cut a heart in one of the pieces.  I stamped the heart using the Hearts a Flutter #129252 stampset and colored it with pink pirouette marker until I got the desired color and was happy with the way it turned out.  RIP Rick Matson.  You were a good man and a legend in your own time!
