Honey comb flowers

2014_03_13IMG_0558 Today’s card is the birthday card I created for our friend Yvonne’s birthday.  In case you missed it we featured Yvonne as a guest designer on Tuesday for her birthday.  Today’s card looks intricate and complicated.  It is intricate but not complicated if you use the fabulous Hexagon Hive Thinlit #132965 from the Stampin Up Occasions catalog.  A bit of advice when using the thinlits especially the Hexagon Hive is to use a piece of wax paper between the cardstock and the die to ease with the Big Shot cutting.  I used the Petite Petals Stampset #133155 to stamp flowers under the hexagon openings and then used the stamps and coordinating Petite Petals punch to randomly add flowers on top of the Hexagon cut out.  The petite petals stamp and punch are available as a bundled item and when purchased together (wood #134821 and clear #134822).  To complete the card, I added a modern label #119849 punched piece with the sentiment in a word window#119857 and some rhinestone bling.
