Piece of Cake

2015_08_23IMG_9036

Another Birthday for my good friend Kim can be celebrated with a piece of cake.  Nothing screams birthday like cake and this card has plenty of it with the darling background paper from the Stampin Up Cherry on Top DSP paper stack #138443.  I added the sentiment from the Happy Birthday, Everyone Host set in the Stampin Up annual catalog #139171. I “girlied” it up using the sweet Itty Bitty flowers with cute pearl centers.

Happy Birthday Kim!

The sentiment is from the Tin of Cards #138946 stamped.  As always Cammie’s nature scenes always include perfect brayering with stunning results that is sure to put a smile on the recipients face.

Mighty Kind Thank You

2015_08_20DSCI0803

I found this card in the archives that I have never posted.  The card uses a lot of the images from the Stampin Up Yee_Haw stamp (that is no longer available) and it makes a quick and fun Thank You.

File Tab Birthday

2015_08_19IMG_7401It seems like every year I send more and more masculine cards and I never have any on hand when I need them. So when I do I make at least for of the same design. I started with a whisper white base and layered a matted strip of the now retired celebrations DSP.  I then made a file using the Stampin Up File Tabs Edgelits #133729.  I adhered the folder to the card base using a piece of Black and White Washi tape.   I added balloons stamped using the Celebrate Today #137138 photopolymer stampset and cut them using the coordinating Balloon Framelits #137362.

Petal Potpourri

2015_08_18_8DSCI0817Today’s post is a fun card that Cammie got inspiration from where else but a Stampin Up catalog.  The card layout and the ruffled edge using the now retired Stampin Up Petal Potpourri stampset and the coordinating Flower Medalilion punch #137417 was from the Stampin Up occasions catalog. For the dots on the lower portion of the card, Cammie used the Dots and Stripes decorative Mask#133775 and a dauber with monochromatic ink. Cammie changed  the color combination and added the adorable bow using the Bow Builder #137414 punch and the sentiment was cut using the Hello You Thinlits words #137363.

Birthday Fishes

2015_08_17IMG_8773

Most everything on today’s card is retired from Stampin Up except for the Chalk Talk Framelits #129983 but the card is just too cute to not post.  The Fishin Around stamp was loaned to me from a dear friend and customer over 2 years ago.  She wanted me to work with the stamp to create something fun.  So I put the stamp on my shelf and thought about it every once in awhile and tried filling the Circle Treat Cups with water and hair gel to no avail.  I finally decided that I was going to complete the task of completing a cute Fishin Around card and just stamped the fishbowl and then punched it out with a circle punch and filled the treat cup with miscellaneous beads (non SU item) and then colored the fish and added little pearls for bubbles. The DSP is an ancient collection from SU that is no longer available but it just worked.  For the sentiment from the So Happy For You (no longer available) stampset and modified the wishes with a handwritten “f” and notched it to make a e banner.  I loved the result and so did my customer and the best part is I got to give her the stamp back and cross this off my to- do list!

A Little Kindness

2015_08_16IMG_6987 For today’s post I used all the images from the Stampin Up Kinda Eclectic #135347 stampset to make this sweet Thank You card. The sentiment on this card is what made me purchase this stamp and is my personal mantra I have owned the Kinda Eclectic set for a long time and never got around to using it until now. It always is fun to try and use all the images on a single card to achieve an overall collage look. I added the punched butterfly using the coordinating Elegant Butterfly punch.#127526.

Single layer Watercolor Wings

2015_08_15IMG_8845 Recently, I needed several thank you cards so I decided I was going to use the first stampset I could grab and whatever inks were on my table to make the cards.  I decided to keep it simple and just make a single layer card using the Watercolor Wings #139424. Love the way it turned out

4×4 Sympathy

2015_08_14IMG_8843Becky Higgins, founder of Project Life and has an exclusive line of Project Life stuff wanted to put something together for the Swapp family that may, in even the very smallest way, bring comfort over the coming weeks, months, and years. Heidi and Eric Swapp’s 16-year-old son Cory passed away very unexpectedly. Heidi Swapp is also a big name in the scrapbooking industry and a contributor to Project Life but more importantly is a friend to Becky Higgins.

Nothing can take away the sting and the sorrow that they must be feeling, but to know that they are so very loved is indeed a help to Heidi and her family during this very tender time. Through Social Media Becky asked anyone, anywhere  to make a 4×4 card that will be later compiled in an 8X8 album. The idea is that the Swapps will have something tangible to hold in their hands. Something they can flip through as they read messages upon messages of encouragement and love from family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and even strangers. Basically anyone and everyone who wants to express their condolences.

Today’s post is the 4×4 card that I made for the outpouring of love and support for a family that I don’t know; although I took a class from Heidi years ago at CKU(Creating Keepsake University) in Orlando Florida and was amazed by her creativity.  My card was made using the Stampin Up Watercolor Wings #139424 stampset. I added a banner that was notched using the Banner Triple Punch 138292.  The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs #128706 stampset.
