It is no secret that I love pretty paper and today’s card is no exception. It features the beautiful Garden Impressions DSP #146289 from Stampin Up and are perfect to create a lasting impression when they are used together.
This card has a whole lot of layering to create the realistic sealife. Cammie started with the now retired Watercolor Wash background stamp and then added the layers of seaweed using the Sea of Textures #146485 stamp set from Stampin Up. The mermaid was stamped using the Magical Mermaid #144014 stamp set and then hand cut out and popped on the seaweed. The sentiment is from the Magical Mermaid stamp set from Stampin Up and the bubbles were punched out using 3/4 inch circle punch.
The July My Paper Pumpkin kit called Picnic Paradise was adorable and the baskets were the perfect choice for me to make for a treat for my girlfriends at a recent luncheon we had.
I was lucky enough to get an extra kit from a customer who does not like the kits when they are not just cards so she keeps the ink and stamps and gives me the rest. Yay. So as a thanks to her I wanted to make something special so I saw this picnic table card from fellow demonstrator Rachel Tessman and knew it make the perfect thank you for giving me her extra kit. The foundation of the table was built as a bridge fold card and I added paper from the Stampin Up Wood Textures #144177 DSP collection to make the table look realistic. The rest of the table was created using left overs from the Picnic Paradise My Paper Pumpkin kit.
Summer vacation is in full swing at beaches so this card is the perfect choice to “Seas The Day” and relax. Cammie used a subtle color scheme and the Hardwood #133032 background stamp from Stampin Up. For the focal panel, Cammie used various inking techniques to create the beach scene and added an Adirondack chair cut from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits #143751. The sentiment from the now retired So Many Shells stamp set was embossed in white and then the card was finished by adding jute twine to the side panel.
Today’s card is a super fun and cute card that is perfect for a summer event. Cammie pieced the magnifying glass together and even added a piece of a window sheet to create the glassy effect. For the bugs, Cammie used the Beetles and Bugs retired Stampin Up set to randomly stamp the bugs to create a fun and busy background. The bugs come to life when colored with an assortment of Stampin Up markers. If you look closely some even glisten with a swipe of the Wink of Stella marker.
The inspiration for this card came from a sample in last years Stampin Up annual catalog. I ordered this So Many Shells stamp set late in the game and then it retired but it was perfect to use for a friends summer birthday. I really love how the two step stamping makes the shell look so realistic. I paired the stamp set with the no Whole Lotta Lovely DSP.
