2Fer Happy Things

Today I am posting 2 cards in 1 post featuring the Stampin Up Adventure Bound DSP paper stack # 137780
that is currently available in the Stampin Up Occasions catalog. The Adventure Bound DSP has 48 sheets of 4 each of 12 double-sided designs of 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ paper and are great for card fronts or backgrounds.  There are no delicate flowers or soft colors with this DSP; instead the DSP is  bold spirited graphics are  and the right choice for  making  Father’s Day, graduation, or other masculine projects. . Both cards also feature the now retired A Happy Thing Sale-a-Bration stamp set.

Both cards have similar layouts and crop the bird in a circle.  The card on the left uses the soon to be retired Starburst Framelits #132967 for the bird to perch on top of the woodgrain DSP while the card on the right the circle is cut into the birch tree and the bird is nesting inside.  For the sentiment I used the soon to be retiring stamp set, Lots of Thanks #129687.

Lemons Journal

 Today’s post is a fabulous journal that Cammie made using the Stampin Up kraft journal #135718 as the base.  Cammie always has a fresh journal in her purse, car, house to keep herself organized.   She also likes to give them as gifts so she always makes them so she has a few on hand.

This journal  has a pool party base layer that is silver embossed using the Stampin Up Gorgeous Grunge stamp set #130517.  The rest of the journal was designed using the now retired Sale-a-bration products: Irresistibly Yours DSP cut into a banner and sponged with pear pizazz ink to reveal the white embossed leaves on the DSP.  The other banner was stamped with versa mark using the Stampin Up Happy Thing stamp set and then embossed with silver embossing powder.  She finished the journal by adding the sentiment multiple times across the bottom of the journal in random pattern.

When Life Gives You Lemons

 Happy Tax Day! I thought it was appropriate to brighten up a sour day like Tax Day with a cheerful card using the now retired A Happy Thing stamp set.  I randomly stamped the lemons on a card panel.  After coloring the lemons with the now discontinued Blendabilities markers I filled in the “white space” with the Love Life sentiment.  I double matted the panel on daffodil and pool party with a scalloped edge using the Scalloped Edge border punch #119882.  I added the Thank You sentiment inside a large oval #119855 and then nested on a scallop oval #119856.

So when life gives you lemons, make lemonade or a card with lemons!

Hello Blue Bird

 I love the bird in the A Happy Thing (no longer available) stamp set that was available during the Stampin Up sale-a-bration.  I made some gift sets using the bird image from the A Happy Thing stamp set and will share them with you over the next few months.  For today’s card I used the Birthday Bash #137783 from the Stampin Up occasions catalog.  On the main panel, I stamped the bird and colored it with the no longer available Stampin Up blendabilities. The crushed curry banner was cut using the banner in the Stampin Up Mini Treat Bag Thinlit #137547 and the hello sentiment was cut using the Hello You Thinlit Dies #137363 available in the Stampin Up occasions catalog.

Love Life

 I am a firm believer in the adage when live gives you lemons… ….make lemonade so that is why I must love this lemon image from the free A Happy Thing #139134 stamp set available in the Stampin Up Sale-a-bration Catalog.  Sale-abration runs through March 31st so you have thru tomorrow to take advantage of the free stuff for every $50 spent and you can love life too!

 The A Happy Thing stamp  set #139134 is one of the free stamp sets in the Stampin Up sale-a-bration catalog and is the set plan on using to make gift sets of cards for some family and friends.  Today’s card is a simple design using the Confetti Celebration DSP #133692 and then used the coordinating Stampin Up Blendabilities to color in the Happy Thing bird.

Love Life eat Lemons

 Today’s card is one of those cards that can be a birthday, thinking of you or most any occasion kinda card. This is one of the cards that I am including in gift bundles for my family and friends this year.

For my pool party layer, I embossed it with the allee new Stampin Up Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder # 137365. I then added strips of the Best Year Ever DSP that have been left over from other projects.  For the main focal piece, with  I cut on the banner using the Party Pennants Big Z die #133732. I then stamped multiple lemons from the A Happy Thing stamp set#139134 and colored them with Stampin Up Blendabilites Markers.  I stamped, colored and hand cut a lemon to pop on top of the bunch.
