No birthday is complete with out a balloon bouquet so for today’s birthday post, I decided to celebrate with balloons and banners from the Stampin Up Celebrate Today #137138 photopolymer stamp set. I wanted to do a single layer card but that is always a hard thing for me to do so I decided to pop just one of the balloons but cutting it out with the coordinating Balloon Framelits Dies #137362 and attached the Whisper White thick Baker’s Twine. The “popped” balloon was from the Color Me Irresistible Specialty paper #138439 that I transformed from white to razzleberry by adding ink and buffing with a paper towel. Love the magic of the Color Me Irresistible paper.
Happy Birth month to me. To celebrate, I will be posting a birthday related post each day in March. Warning there will not be a Christmas post on the 25th this month because I celebrate birth month all month long!!
To kick off birth month postings I am sharing a simple birthday card I made using lots of balloons cut from the Stampin Up Balloon Framelits #137362 dies to create the monochromatic white background and the another bright turquoise complete with thick bakers twine for a string. I added a sentiment to complete the fun birthday card.
Today’s post is an example of using a stamp set in an unintended way. I made this Christmas card using the Stampin Up Celebrate today #137138 Photopolymer stamp set and the coordinating Balloon Framelits #137362. I simply turned the balloons upside down to create the holiday ornaments and hand drew the wire to hang them from the stamped pines (retired stampset).
When I use a stampset or product in a creative way that was not intended it makes me happy because it brings a new life to products just sitting on the shelf! Go ahead and try it and send me a JPG of your finished product and I’ll post it on the blog!
It seems like every year I send more and more masculine cards and I never have any on hand when I need them. So when I do I make at least for of the same design. I started with a whisper white base and layered a matted strip of the now retired celebrations DSP. I then made a file using the Stampin Up File Tabs Edgelits #133729. I adhered the folder to the card base using a piece of Black and White Washi tape. I added balloons stamped using the Celebrate Today #137138 photopolymer stampset and cut them using the coordinating Balloon Framelits #137362.

Happy birthday to our sweet twin niece and nephew Claire and Dylan. I decided to use the No Bones About It #138756 stamp set and make a girl version and a boy version for their 9th birthday. For Claire’s girly dino card, I added strips of the Stampin Up Cherry on Top DSP Paper Stack #138443 and notched each strip with the Banner Triple Punch #138292. I used Watermelon Wonder Ink to Stamp the “longneck” dino and added a Pool Party party hat complete with a rhinestone accent.
For Dylan’s boy dino card, I used the banners DSP from the Cherry On Top DSP paper stack to set the tone for this multilayered birthday card. I used pool party ink to stamp just the velociraptor bones and added a cool cucumber party hat. I used multi colored inks and the various little images to accent the background of the main panel and then cut a banner from the Balloon Framelits #137362.
Happy Birthday Claire and Dylan!

Every July Cammie and I jointly host a Christmas in July workshop so that our customers can really get a jumpstart on their Christmas cards. So starting today and for the next 4 days we will feature Christmas cards that will be part of our Christmas in July workshop on the 26th of July. Consider this a sneak peek of Christmas.
The Christmas in July workshop is the toughest workshop for me because I am just not ready for Christmas when it is hot outside. I agonize also because Stampin Up has not introduced the full Christmas line up of new products so I challenge myself to use what ever I have on hand to make it Christmas. So for today’s card I used a traditional color scheme of cherry cobbler and garden green for my card. I textured the cherry cobble cardstock with the Stylish Striped Embossing folder #132174. I used the now retired Watercolor Winter stampset to randomly add pine branches on the focal panel. I then cut an ornament from silver glimmer specialty paper using the Stampin Up Balloon Framelits #137362 The second ornament was stamped using the Celebrate Today #137138 and the now retired Good Greetings stampsets. The ornaments were popped on the card and then a string was hand drawn. I am always happy to create a card using stuff I have on hand that is not for the intended use.

For my recent birthday bash workshop, I featured cards using the Stampin Up Birthday Bash (now retired) DSP. For today’s card, I paired the Birthday Bash DSP with the Balloon Framelits #137362 and the coordinating Celebrate Today photopolymer #137138. To create the shaker I used the balloon die to cut a window in the white panel. I then put a transparent Window Sheet #114323 on the back side.and then stamped the sentiment from the Celebrate Today set using Stazon Ink #101406 and the multi colored strings. Turned over the panel and put Stampin Dimensionals all around the back side leaving absolutely no gaps. I added a bunch of stars punched using the Confetti Stars Border #135861. Once enough mulit colored stars were added I covered the back with a piece of calypso coral cardstock to seal the window. I added 2 scalloped edges and secured the Birthday Bash DSP. To finish the fun card I turned it over and made sure it shakes and then added the cute mini bow cut from the Balloon Framelits.
