Relax it’s your birthday

Today is Tuesday and normally the day I post my MDS post because Tuesdays are a big day at Stampin Up.  Tuesdays are the day for new digital downloads and that even goes for today but today is also our friend Yvonne’s birthday so along with a big birthday shout out we wanted to feature her as a guest designer.  Yvonne was inspired by Cammie’s post from yesterday and she came up with her own version of a relaxing beach scene.  Yvonne added some non Stampin Up stickers to complete her card.

Relax

 Today’s card is a very peaceful card that Cammie did using her fantastic brayering skills.  She used a range of blue hues to create the clear blue sky and added the seagulls using the white gel pen.  She used daubers and crumb cake ink to make the sandy beach then added the RELAX with the Sketch Alphabet and Numbers #130565 from the Stampin Up annual catalog.

Vacation Bound

Today Cammie and her husband left for a two Jamaican holiday.  They love to go to the island and try and go annually.  This year they chose to go to celebrate Cammies “mid fifties” birthday.  So from now until they return our blog will feature beachy or vacationy (not a word but it sounded it fun) cards in nature.

Todays card uses the direct to paper technique for the sky and the sand is crumpled cardstock.  Cammie added a beach umbrella using the Rain or Shine stamp #126777 from the Stampin Up spring catalog.  I will miss my sister but hope she gets the much needed relaxation that she deserves.

Feeling crabby

Today’s post is another one of Cammies cards using the Michelle Zindorf brayer techniques.  If you look closely the beautiful beach scene has seagrass stamped using the Stampin Up  Serene Silhouettes #127324 stampset.  The crab is stamped using the By the Sea Shore #126532 stampset, then hand cut and popped on the shoreline to give it life.

When you have time to play with your brayer you can create beautiful backgrounds and have fun in the process.  If you have any brayered cards send them to me as a JPG file and I will share the love.

Let the relaxation begin

Happy Festivus one and all and farewell to sister Cammie who likes to get away for Christmas.  She leaves today for Jamaica and made a tribute card to let the relaxation begin.

 This card features the ala carte Many mustaches stamp  #122917 and shows how the stamp inked in different colors can change the whole intent of the stamped image.  Who knew a whole beach scene could be made from a single mustache stamp?
