Today’s post is an example of using a product not as intended. The adorable monster is from the now retired Beautiful Branches framelits from Stampin Up. The spooky sentiment is cut from the now retired Seasonal Frame Thinlits Dies from Stampin Up. Once the monster was assembled he was placed on a piece of the striped paper in the Pop of Pink Specialty paper collection #141648.

Happy Labor Day! In Ohio, school has been back in session for over 3 weeks but back in the day we started after Labor Day. I made this card for my dear friend who is a 1st grade teacher that puts her heart and soul into her classroom. I started with a real red base and then layered a piece of retired Stampin Up DSP that looks like the old paper we practiced cursive writing on. I used the Thoughtful Branches #143539 stampset to stamp the grass, apples and leaves. For the sun, I used the Swirly Bird stampset #141749. To finish the tree I cut the leaves and apples with the coordinating Beautiful Branches Thinlits #143538. For the sentiment, I stamped it from the The Thoughtful Branches stampset and added a handcut banner and stapled it to the writing paper. Good luck to all the teachers and students starting a fresh new school year.
The Thoughtful Branches and the Beautiful Branches Framelits were supposed to be available only in the month of August bur Stampin Up has extended it until supplies run out. So there is still time but no way to tell how long the Bundle will last.
Today is the last day to get purchase the Stampin Up Thoughtful Branches Bundle #144328. I used the Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to texture the whisper white background. I added scraps of color and popped the tree cut from the Beautiful Branches Thinlits. The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Branches stamp set to create this color blocked thank you card.
