For today’s card I was inspired by the card on page 159 of the 2017-2018 annual catalog featuring the fabulous and new Wood Crate Framelits #143730. I love this Framelit and thought I could do without the stamp set so I did not buy the coordinating Wood Words set. Big Mistake! It always seems like when I don’t buy the bundle I regret it.
For this card, I stamped the background with an image from a stamp set that has been retired for years. I think it is called Home Grown. I then used the Wood Crate to cut it out from the Wood Textured DSP #144177 and made the crate. I added the hand cut carrots and added carrot tops using the retired bird builder punch. I finished with a tag tied with linen thread.
Today would have been our mombugs 83rd birthday. I think of her every day but especially on her birthday. So todays post is just a thinking of you tribute to our mom. The card is just a sweet bird on a branch punched from the Bird Builder punch #117191. The bird wing was popped on the bird and placed on the window piece. The sentiment is from the retired Stampin Up curly cute set and cut out using the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits #135707.
Today’s card is another card that Cammie and I both made in a private brayering session. The Card base is black and the First Edition DSP is the background paper. We created to panels one starting out with blushing bride and the other in so saffron. We added some brayering of different colors to change the look of the panels. We used the now retired Just Believe stampset to create the flowers on the panel. We hand cut black poles and doodled in a double row of wire and then punched a black bird using the Bird Builder punch #117191. I was thrilled with how this card turned out and will keep it on hand for when I need a sympathy card.
Today’s post is one of the cards we made in Cammie’s basic brayering class. We created a sunset using various shades of oranges and a circle mask for the sun. The birds were punched using the birdbuilder punch #117191 out of black cardstock and perched a top of a piece of string. This card was super simple to create and got us brayering the proper way. I did not add a sentiment to my card yet because it is a general purpose card that I can use when I need a quick card in a hurry.
This time is always bittersweet. The current Stampin Up catalog will be replaced on June 1st with a new catalog with some old stamps, some new stamps and lots of new accessories. Today’s post features a card that I CASE’d using the soon to be retired stampset Language of Friendship #122752. This stampset coordinates with the Bird Builder #117191 and Boho Blossoms #119658. Good news the punches will not be retiring.

Cammie got a custom order to make 20 Oklahoma Christmas cards. Boy did she deliver! You are probably thinking what makes this card an OK greeting card. Well, the mistletoe sprigs because mistletoe is the state flower of Oklahoma. Who knew?
This is simply a gorgeous card with lots of layering. The Elegant Lines folder #119277 was used to add texture to the whisper white base and the birds and misletoe were punched using the Bird Builder #117191 punch. Mistletoe was embellished with mini pearls to add interest and detail.
