Happy birthday to my big sister and fellow blogger, Cammie. Today’s post is the birthday card I made her using the new Smooches DSP. Smooches DSP and other embellishments in the Stampin Up Smooches product line are available as a sneak peek through 30 April and then not available until June 1st when the new Stampin Up catalog debut’s. Card is simple but oh so cute. Have a great birthday sistah!
Continuing with the scraps of Everyday enchantment DSP I made this card for my card cafe and it was definately one that people liked. I plan to switch out the papers and make it again. Most of my card cafe attendees thought this was a layered birthday cake rather than a stack of presents which I thought was super funny. I cut strips of paper and stacked them then added and curled the ribbon. Added the sentiment from the also no longer available stamp set called outlined occasions and colored it in with coordinationg markers.
The homegrown stamp set #120486 was one of my favorites from the Stampin Up IBC but one that I seldom use. Today Cammie used the homegrown stamp set using black and white images and then layered it on top of a black top note #113463 and then onto a crumbcake card base. She finished the card with a piece of crumb cake 1/2 inch seam binding #122332. Love this clean and simple card that I just may go dust off my homegrown set and play.
Today is my husband Brad’s 49th birthday so I would like to give a great big shout out to him! Luck Brad that his birthday is usually during our spring break so he does not have to work. Today’s post features the Party This way #120609 stam set and is a stamp set that I have loved since it came out in the Stampin Up IBC a few years ago but I never ordered. It kept getting bumped to a lower priority on my must have list until recently it was offered for free during Stampin Up’s annual sale-a-bration campaign so I snatched it up then. This card is a pretty simple straight forward design that requires little instruction to complete.
More card cafe cards coming tomorrow.
Today is our friend and guest designer, Yvonne Crook’s birthday so I am giving her a big shout out to wish her the sweetest birthday ever. This card is super simple and showcases the Sweet Cake #125492 stamp from the occasions mini catalog. The cupcake image was embossed using craft black ink and the cherry is non other than the Large pearl #125577 colored with a Red Sharpie. The background was created with scraps of cardstock that I textured with the perfect polka dots#117335 and petals a plenty #116824 texture folders.
Have a great day Yvonne
Continuing with the It’s a Wrap stamp set #123592 from the Stampin Up IBC, I stamped and embossed 3 of the images to get different textures for the shopping bags. I cut them out and adhered 1/8 ” black taffeta ribbon #119261 to them to form the handles. I punched coordinating hot pink tissue using the postage stamp punch #122344 and added to the shopping bags. One of the bags has a heart punched from the small heart punch #117193.
THe card base is pretty in pink cardstock embossed with the heart texture plate from the adorning accents texture folders #125601 from the new Stampin Up occasions mini catalog. I then added a bow using the black 1 1/4 ” striped ribbon and layered the Happiest Birthday wishes from Hostess stamp set #122617 to create a coordinating accent.
The best part of this card you cannot see- it is the inside sentiment and my inspiration for this card- it says… the world got a present the day you were born. So I created a card with presents to use this stamp set. This card took a lot of time because of all the detail but I like how it turned out and used it as my second swap for the regional Stampin Up convention.
Todays card is absoultely a simple and cute birthday card I made using the It’s a wrap stampset #123592 from the Stampin Up IBC. I stamped the birthday image 3 times in 3 different bright colors and cut them out to make the candles. I punched the flames from daffodil cardstock using the wing from the bird builder punch #117191, inked the edges and and added a black wick with a black extra fine sharpie. Added ribbon and a button to the whisper white cardstock textured with the stripes embossing folder #123128. I loved this card so much and it was easy to create so I used it for one of my swaps at the Stampin Up Regional seminar today in Columbus Ohio.
Today’s post is another card from Cammie’s Sweets workshop features a simple red and white design that was inspired from the peppermint candy from her visit to Sonice. The peppermint candies are created from the Sweets for the Sweet stampset # 122512 stamped on white with real red craft ink and heat embossed with iridescent ice #101930 embossing powder. The candies were pucnhed out with a 1″ circle punch and mounted on a 1 1/4 ” circle of red glimmer paper #121790. The striped banner is cut from a strip of Big Top Birthday DSP #122348 the red and white polka dot rectangles are from the Stampin Up brights DSP collection #117155. The elements are all layered on top of a real red card front run through the striped embossing folder #123128. The card is finished with a piece of 1/8 inch black taffeta ribbon #119261 and the sentiment is from the It’s Your Day stamp set #123682 and punched with the curly label #119851 punch.
For today’s card, I drew my inspiration from the card in the Stampin Up IBC on page 120 but I don’t own the Field of Flowers set (shocking I know) so I substituted another flower that is no longer available but I wanted to showcase the wonderful First Edition DSP #121878 and the Happiest Birthday Wishes Hostess stamp set #122617. I stepped out of my comfort zone with this color combo (soft suede, cajun craze, and peach parfait). The Stampin Up DSP is always always great but this First Edition Specialty paper is double sided and lighter in weight and once the image is stamped on it it takes on a whole new look. I stamped the sentiment on soft suede and then punched it out using the curly label punch #119851 and popped it on top of the cajun craze strip textured with the perfect polka dots textured embossing folder. Love how it turned out!
