This was my all time favorite Christmas card I made this year but I had to select the recipients very closely so not too offend anyone. The card is simple in design. I textured the front with the vintage wall paper textured folder #120175. I then used several products from the Stampin Up Holiday catalog including the mason jar framelit from the cannery set #127822 to cut the shape in the card front. I also cut from the retired Christmas fabric the jar top. On the back side of the card front I added a piece of transparency to give a realistic look to the mason jar. I also embossed the mason jar using the Perfectly Preserved stamp set #126692 and added a stamped gingerbread man from the Scentstional Season stamp set #121190 and layered it behind the transparency. I added a hand cut pennant with hand written sentiment: The Perfect man….
Then on the inside of the card I printed the following expression:
… He’s quiet, he’s sweet
And if he gives you any trouble
You can bite his head off!

EEK Spiders! Yuk! For my Perfectly preserved workshop, I wanted to include a Halloween card. The Stampin Up Holiday Catalog features bundles priced to save you 15% when purchasing the items as a bundle. The Perfectly Preserved bundle #131022 includes the Perfectly Preserved stampset #126692 and the coordinating Cannerey framelit set #127822. I am definately not domestic enough to can anything but I love this bundle. For this card, I used the Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP #126906 used the jar die and cut through the chevron DSP and then placed the embossed jar underneath with a spider from the Spooky Bingo Bits#123946, then used a piece of transparency to give the jar a real look (and to keep the spider in ;)! I topped the jar with a cute lid stamped from the perfectly preserved stampset, although I wish I would have used fabric, and tied it with a piece of non -SU string. I hand cut pennant banners and eeked it out with the new 1 1/4 inch scalloped circle to create the “card candy”. Stay tuned to see how I used the Perfectly Preserved bundle in the traditional sense.

This is the Thank-you card that I made for our group to sign as a Thanks to Tonya Odum from Gigi’s Scrapbooking retreat in Dix IL. I was inspired by all the mason jars that Tonya used to decorate with, serve salad in and even jar smores (in baby jars) so that is how my card evolved. The background paper is from the Orchard Harvest DSP collection #126895. I then cut a mason jar on the front of the card using the cannery framelit set#127822 and then stamped the inside of the card using the coordinating I used the Perfectly Preserved stampset #126692. The jar lid was cut from a 1″ piece of ribbon and tied with then tied with a piece of linen thread. I added some smores from a pack of Jolee stickers and sealed the jar with a piece of clear plastic. The best part of this card is the burned edges.
