Happy Valentine’s Day. For today’s card which is my favorite Valentine card I made this year It’s always fun to send punny Valentines and this one is no exception. I made an eclipse style card using the Large Letters Framelits #141712 and the Bubbles and Fizz DSP #147244 from the Stampin Up Sale-A-Bration catalog. The Bubbles and Fizz DSP is one of many free items you can earn during the Stampin Up annual Sale-A-Bration campaign ongoing now thru March 31st.
To achieve the Eclipse look I cut several layers of letters in black and 1 layer from the Bubbles and Fizz DSP and then stacked them and placed them back in the spot on the card front. It sounds more confusing than it is. I then stamped the bees using the Dragonfly Dreams #142924 stamp set and cut them out using the coordinating Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits #142749. I looked thru all my stamps and found the “Mine” in the now retired Crazy Mixed Up Love stamp set and hand cut a banner to place over a punched heart. Hope your day is filled with love, flowers and chocolates!
I just love the details on this card just by simply using Stampin Up Framelits which also makes it quite easy. I started with a circle cut in the top layer using the Layering Circle Framelits #141705. I cut 2 of the dragonfly flights from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits #142749 and glued then to the card front and cut away the excess and then layered a piece of Watercolor Wonder DSP (retired) beneath the circle to create a sun effect. I then cut out the big dragonfly and add a strip of rhinestones to “bling” it up! The sentiment is from the now retired Sweet Essentials stamp set.
Today’s card is a fabulous card with a textured background using a piece of a flap on a Stampin Up shipping box. Cammie added wisps of thin strips of grass and the dragonfly stamped using the Dragonfly Dreams #142924 stamp set and coordinating Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits #142749 to create this stunning card.
I finally got around to using the free Sale-a-bration DSP Color Inside the Lines that is no longer available. I cut the 12×12 DSP to 4×5.25 inches for the card front. I colored the flowers using Copic markers and the cut the dragonfly using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits #142749 and the sentiment from the coordinating Dragonfly Dreams #142924.
