Sharing in Your Sorrow

2013_06_28DSCI0237 Sympathy cards are always tough to make and it seems we never have them on hand when we need them so today’s card is one that Cammie made to have on hand when the time comes.  The whisper white background and the soft suede panel are both embossed with the wood grain textured folder #127821.  Cammie added a whisper white lattice cut from the Lattice die #115958. The flowers are from the Fabulous Florets #123027 and adorned with basic pearls for the flower center.  Behind the flowers, Cammie tucked  leaves that were cut from the Little Leaves Sizzlit #114511. To finish the card Cammie textured a decorative label #120907 and added and oval with the sentiment.  This card was designed as a sympathy card but just by switching the sentiment it could take on another life.

Layered with love

2013_06_24DSCI0215Today’s card is a beautiful brayered sunset that is rich in layers using products from the Stampin Up 2013-2014 annual catalog.  Cammie started off with a marina mist layer textured with the argyle embossing folder#127750.  The black apothecary label framelit #127003 serves as  the frame for the brayered sunset oval piece cut using the oval framelits #129381  The black flourish was stamped using the Everything Eleanor stampset #124164 and highlighted with the fabulous white gel pen #105021. To add dimension, Cammie added the Papillion Potpourri butterflies#123759.  The butterflies were colored using the Stampin Up Aqua Painters #103954 and then punched with the coordinating butterfly punch #129406.  The Fabulous Florets #123027 accent piece anchors  the framed sunset.  The flower was painted with aqua painters and the center was a boho blossom #119858 punch complete with a pearl and layered on top a Little Leaves sizzlet #114511 leaf to finish this layered masterpiece.

Sunrise Sunset

2013_06_17DSCI0165Summer is about here and that means its time for some beautiful Sunrises and Sunsets.  To get ready, Cammie has definitely mastered the sunsets using her brayer techniques.  She has figured out just the right blend of Stampin Up inks to create the perfect sunrises and sunsets.  To complete the look, the card on the left uses the Fabulous Florets stampset #123027 and the one on the right uses the Serene Silhouettes #127324.

Cammie has been receiving a lot of inquiries about teaching a brayer class and she is in the process of developing the class to learn the brayering technique.  The cost for the brayer class is $100 and will include all the consumable supplies and tools  you will need to use in the class and take home so you can continue to create beautiful brayered cards at home.  The first class will be held Sat August 3 in Columbus Ohio. If you are interested in attending contact Cammie directly at cammiet@att.net for further details and pre-payment.

Ornate Blossom CASE

The ornate blossom stamp set #117094 will be gone by the end of May when the current Stampin Up IBC ends.  Today’s card is one that I CASE’d from page 106 of the 2011-2012 Stampin UP IBC.  The ornate blossom stamp is embossed with clear embossing powder and then I stamped a flower from the Fabulous Florets stamp set #123027 and then cut them out and popped them onto the card base.  The fun embellishment on this card is the flower centers that were made using the 1 1/4 inch striped grossgrain ribbon that I frayed.  Sadly all the 1 1/4 ” striped grossgrain ribbon is going away and is not in the new 2012-2013 IBC.  What am I going to do with out that ribbon?

Fabulous Florets

For today’s post   I needed  to make some general purpose note cards to give as a gift so I went to my go to stampset- Fabulous Florets. I wanted a simple design that I could use to create the same card in coordinating colors and chose to use  chocolate chip cardstock coupled with retired Blue Bayou cardstock and ribbon and retired Wasabi ribbon and Wasabi cardstock. I love the way it turned out.

Butterfly Punch

While at Convention Shelli Gardner showed a cute and quick card to make using the butterfly punch to create a hole in the card front and fill it with scrap of DSP.  Today I am showing this concept using 2 color schemes.  Hope you like them.
