Washi Tape Thanks

I have to admit that I love Washi Tape and have so many rolls that I refuse to buy any more until I start to use what I have.  So today’s card is my first attempt to start using washi tape to make a quick and easy card. I just stamped the sentiment from the now retired Fabulous Four stamp set from Stampin Up.  Then I just added Washi tape to fill in the blank space.

Happy accident

When I was prepping to make all my calendar easel cards for the new year, I over cut and prepped by one but did not have enough calendars so I turned it into a cute birthday card for a January birthday.2016_01_10IMG_9491

So instead of the calendar piece I added the  new Botanical Builder Framelit flowers from the all new Stampin Up Occasions catalog.  The background paper is from the now retired Painted Blooms DSP.   The It’s Your day sentiment is from the Fabulous Four Stampin Up stamp set # 134171 and the other one that serves as the easel anchor is from the You’ve Got This stamp set #139572.

Artichoke Thanks

Once again I went to the Stampin Up Farmers Market DSP collection to make this card.  The DSP is so fantastic that it really does not need much to make a nice card.  I added the artichoke stamp from the now retired Home grown stamp set.

2015_09_26IMG_9001 For similar card. I used the now retired DSP and randomly stamped artichokes from the Homegrown stampset and then added a strip of always artichoke cardstock and the Fabulous Four stampset #134171

School House Rocks

For todays post I wanted to show off the fun colors in the Stampin Up School House DSP #138187. I used the Bow Builder #137414 punch to make the sweetest coordinating bows for each card.  I finished by adding a sentimement from the Fabulous Four stamp set #134171. This set has Four fabulous phrases, four ways to say just the right thing. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, saying thanks, or wishing someone well, these images help you say what you want to say.

Sorry You’re Sick

Todays pick me up card for a sick friend was inspired by the tags on page 59 in the Stampin Up annual catalog that uses the Fabulous Four #134171 stamp set.  I used the now retired Sweet Taffy DSP for all elements of this card including the large star cut using the Stars Framelits #135707.  With all the bright colors this card should be sure to cheer up a sick friend.

One time wonder

For today’s card, I thought I was going to make a bunch of these for thank yous.2015_04_07IMG_7101  It looks simple and turned out great but it was too cumbersome to make more than one at a time.  I needed several thank yous at once and I was strapped for time so I just made one {for now}.  I punched lots of 1″ circles #119868 from the no longer available Best Year Ever DSP but any DSP would work great. The great part about DSP is that you get 2 different patterns that adds color and pizazz to the card. I separated the DSPs so that I designs were represented and I folded each DSP in half and then started to adhere them to the card front in a staggered pattern.  Once they were all down I added a strip of Stampin Up Beach House Washi Tape # 133689. The sentiment is from the Stampin Up Fabulous Four #134171 stamp set and I added a few cork flowers(no longer available) left over from previous projects.  I plan to make a birthday version of this card using bright DSP patterns.

Fancy Lotus Blossom

2015_03_08IMG_6969 The Stampin Up 2015 annual sale-a-bration campaign has some of the best free offerings available in the Sale-a-bration catalog or the newly added SAB item supplement list from now through March 31st.  For todays birthday card I used the Lotus Blossom #139143 polymer stamp set to create this beautiful flower.  I used 1 color ink (Strawberry Slush) and stamp 3 images on top of one another to create this multilayered flower.  It looks complicated but it is not thanks to the way Stampin Up designed the flower images to align perfectly.

I then added the sentiment from the Fabulous Four #134171 stampset and separated each word with a rhinestone colored with the Stampin Up Blendabilities markers.  When the main panel was completed I distressed and inked the edges before adding it to a piece of the Stampin Up Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum #133364.

Zendoodling or Zentangling

2014_09_23IMG_5016 2014_09_23_761 - CopyI have always been a doodler.  Whether I am in a staff meeting trying to stay awake or occupying time while on a conference call or on hold I love to doodle.  Until now I never knew it had a name or any benefits. Cammie informed me that doodling is a form of art called Zen doodling or Zen tangling an today’s card is a fine example of Cammie’s Zendoodling.

Today’s hectic lifestyle can leave us burned out. It’s no wonder that more and more people are engaging in healing activities such as yoga, meditation, and massage. Artistic expression is also a great way to de-stress.  Zen Doodling, combines the calming benefits of meditation with the soothing effects of drawing for a unique new take on relaxation.  Zen doodling doesn’t require any artistic training, and there’s no need for special tools or equipment. With just a pen and a scrap of paper, many find that the simple repetitive nature of drawing patterns is spiritually rewarding and can boost creative confidence.

To accomplish the image, Cammie just stamped the Stampin Up Blended Bloom #135906 image and grabbed one of the new Project Life journaling pens #135305 an started doodling inside each flower petal.  When she finished it was a beautiful flower and she just added a spot of melon mambo ink and a mat to make the image pop.  The background paper is the perfect “Zentangle” piece from the Back to Black #133700 to complement her image.  She added a sentiment from the Fabulous Four #134174stampset.
