Happy Birthday to my oldest friend Kim Dunn! By old I don’t mean in age (but she is older than me!) but old in terms of the number of years we have been friends-44 years! Today I am posting a card that reminds me of our friendship. I chose a fun yellow dot piece of DSP (now retired) and then for the main panel I used 2 Stampin Up sets- Kinda Eclectic #135350 to layer the sun behind the fabulous sentiment from the Feel Goods # 129684 stamp set. I added a piece of Hello Honey ribbon and randomly scattered rhinestones colored with my Copic markers to add the perfect amount of bling.
Here’s to you Kim!
Today’s post makes me happy. I really love this sweet bird in the Stampin Up A Happy Thing stampset (no longer available). This stamp was one of the sale-a-bration items and it just is a fun bird to work with. I added a piece of the soon to be retiring Birthday Bash DSP #137783 and added a sentiment from the now retired Feel Goods stampset.
Be sure to check out the Stampin Up retired list to get the Birthday Bash DSP and other Stampin Up products that will no longer be available after June 2nd.
I am not a big fan of playing in the garden unless it is playing with the new, bright and fun Garden Gingham DSP. I was struggling with how to use patterned paper and ran across a card sketch that I have come to love and my go to card layout. Today’s card is a sweer card that I made using the Garden Gingham DSP #129310 from the Stampin Up annual catalog. I love how all the paper coordinates and even 3 pieces of patterned paper does not make the card look too busy. I added the sentiment from the Feel Goods stampset #129684 and matted it in the new Strawberry Slush Stampin Up in color. I added the punched butterfly using the Elegant Butterfly punch #127526 and a scrap of the Garden Gingham DSP. The smaller butterfly was stamped using the Papillion Potpourri #123759 stampset and the coordinating Bitty Butterfly punch #129408.

Today’s post is an in process work rather than a finished card. Please ignore the grid paper that Cammie uses in her workplace when designing but especially when she is brayering. Today’s card is a brayered sun using the masking technique to create the stunning rays. She added the sentiment from the Feel Goods #129684 stampset from the Stampin Up annual catalog. Once you get out the brayering supplies and get the hang of creating the sunrays you can whip up several of these cards in no time. Cammie took the basic design and then added a jar of sunshine to give the card a whole new look.
For today’s post I wanted to showcase the wonderful Naturals Composition DSP #126917 that I used to punch the butterfly. The Naturals Composition DSP in kraft in color but can be altered in various ways. On page 151 of the all new Stampin Up annual catalog, are samples of what can be done to the DSP. I punched the DSP using the Elegant butterfly punch #127526 and then rubbed it with midnight muse ink and then buffed it with a tissue to reveal the kraft textured pattern. I used the now retired Parkers Pattern DSP for the background and the large scallop oval cut from the Ovals collection framelits #129381. I added the sentiment from the Feel Goods #129684 stampset.
The possibilities are endless with the Naturals Composition DSP so be sure to add it to your wishlist!
