Butterflys are Free to Fly

2015_06_16MG_7897I am trying to clear out my DSP collection from the last Stampin Up annual catalog to make room for the gorgeous new DSP in the current 2015-2016 annual catalog. For these 2 cards, I used the same layout and the same Stampin Up Flower Pot DSP just different patterns. To create the peek a boo butterfly window I used the Butterfly Thinlit dies # 137360. The small butterfly has an open design that allows you to place it where you want for precise cutting and perfect for this design. Here are close up views:

Bold Thanks

2015_01_28IMG_5730 Not much stamping for this bright and bold thank you card.  I had scraps of Stampin Up Flower Pot DSP #133698 laying on my desk so I made a quick card.  This card could be used for any occasion but I needed a Thank You card and so I stamped the thanks onto an Artisian Label #130920 punched piece, added a couple of punched circles and finished off with a piece of Hello Honey 3/8 ” Stitched Satin Ribbon #133671.

2fer birthday

2014_08_07IMG_4717 Today is the 8th birthday of our twin niece and nephew so I am posting 2 completely different cards that I made them for their birthday.  The first card is the adorably girly card for Claire. I used the Stampin Up Flower Pot #133695 DSP for the background papers.  I then stamped created the focal panel using the Kind Koala #134360 from the Stampin Up annual catalog.  To color the cute koala I used the Smoky Slate blendabilities assortment #131005 and matted it on a piece of lost lagoon cardstock.  I added a scrap piece of Crushed Curry Chevron #130019 ribbon to add texture.

The Kind Koala stamp is one of many single stamps available from the Stampin Up annual catalog.  The single stamps are a low cost way to get started with stamping.

2014_08_07IMG_4719 The 2nd card is a “boyish” card for our nephew Dylan.  I made the gumball green background look quite grassy by texturing the background with square lattice textured impressions embossing folder.  I created the soccer ball by using the Hexagon Hive Thinlit #132965 and then cutting it out with a Circle framelit #130911.  I added the Geometrical #133161 expression on to a tag cut using the Chalk Talk Framelit #129983.  Super simple and I feel this card is a real kick in the grass kinda birthday card.
