For today’s post everything is retired and no longer available from Stampin Up but that does not mean it can’t be used. As a matter of fact, I like bringing life back to some old stuff especially if it is lying around on my table. It is sometimes easier to use it than find a place for it. I went for a monochromatic look on this card. The DSP on this card is from the Fresh Prints DSP paper stack and I hand cut a coordinating banner. I used the Stampin Up square framelits #130921 to make the frame. I added the sentiment and the bitty flower and accented with a basic pearl to complete the look.
Even though most the products are no longer available the layout of the card is simple and any paper and sentiments could be used to change the look.
Happy birthday to one of our own! Our baby sister, Blair and Navy nurse is having a birthday today. Like me, she celebrates birth month and loves her birthday so for the rest of the week, I will be posting nautical designs.
For today’s card I made my own background by stamping the anchor from the Hello Sailor #133278 stampset from the Stampin Up occasions catalog. I hand cut a banner from the Fresh Prints #132996 and then made the life preserver from the Circles Collection Framelits #130911. To complete the card I stamped the sentiment from the Hello Sailor stamp set and cut it out using the window frames framelits #129021 and punched a star from the soon to be retired Itty Bitty Punches.
If you like the Hello Sailor stampset and the Fresh Prints DSP paper stack or anything else in the Stampin Up occasions catalog you only have until June 1st and most items will be gone forever.
Cammie used a unique color scheme for today’s card. The background is from the Fresh Prints DSP paper stack from the Stampin Up occasions catalog. She then dressed up the card front using the Filmstrip #132690 single stamp and filled it in with the sentiment from the now retired SAB free stampset, You’re Lovely. Cammie then went to town with layers including the Peachy Keen #133113 sentiment and framed it with the coordinating On Film framelits #132969. She then completed the card using the photo corners and squares.
Lots of fun products and a great color scheme makes for a fun all occasions card.
A big birthday shout to our Brother -in-Law David for his birthday yesterday. It was digital download day so I failed to mention his birthday. Oh well I hope his birthday was a happy one. I really struggle with making masculine cards and when I saw this fun Fresh Prints DSP Paper pack in the Stampin Up occasions catalog, I knew that I would use this for some masculine type cards.
David and our baby sister Blair bird feeders and watching the birds from their deck so I made a birdhouse using the Stampin Up Hexagon Punch #130919, 1 1/4 ” square punch, and the small heart #117913. I added a piece of real red 1/4 ” stitched ribbon. The bird house is mount on a piece of coastal cabana cardstock textured with the Decorative Dots (free SAB item) texured embossing folder from the Stampin Up Sale-a-Bration catalog. I finished the card with a sentiment from a retired stampset (sorry I can’t remember the name). I made the card the same way and featured 2 different background papers from the Fresh Prints paper stack.
