Happy St. Patrick’s Day. I absolutely love all things St. Patrick’s Day, including Shamrock Shakes! I made this super clean and simple design (not as simple as it looks) for my St. Patricks Day cards this year. The Shamrock is made using the Heart Framelits #125599 from the Stampin Up annual catalog. For each shamrock, I had to run it through the big shot 4 times. I created a window effect on the main panel and the green layer beneath is revealed. I then added a layer of textured hearts punched with the heart from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack #133787. I hand drew a stem and added the sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes #128748.

Since it is still February, I decided to close out the month with a zinger. The first card is the special valentine that Cammie made for me and the second is the one I made for her.. I thought it was funny how similar but different the cards were. Neither of us knew that the other was making the card. Both cards used the Stampin Up Hearts Framelits #125599 and then used several shades of pinks to punch lots of flowers from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack #133787 to embellish the heart. Cammie added a stamped arrow and sentiment from the now retired Stampin Up Straight to the heart stamp set and I kept my sentiment to the inside. For my card the heart was cut through the heart layer and the card base to reveal the embellished heart and sentiment on the inside. We both textured the front of the card using Stampin Up folders (Arrows #132187 and hearts #137364) to complete these cute cards.
Today’s card is a card from Cammie’s masking 101 class. The woodgrain heart on the background was done by creating a mask using the heart framelit #125599 and then suing the woodgrain #127808 stamp to make the heart. The daisy was made using the secret garden framelit #129372 and then running it through the square lattice textured folder #119976. Cammie stacked 2 daisys together and “fluffed” them to add dimension. She added a flower button tied with a piece of Whisper white bakers twine #124262. The stem was hand cut and then she added a hand cut banner with the appropriate sentiment to create this super cute and sweet all purpose card.
The fun thing that sisters like to do is tease and dare one another to do crazy stuff. Well Cammie and I both received the Take it to Heart Stamp #125522 set for free from Stampin Up. The stamp set is not one that I normally would have purchased because of the boy and girl on a bike. I like vintage as much as anyone but there was something about this stamp that scared me but I loved the banner in the set and it was free so all is good. Cammie kept talking up the stamp set and how it worked so nicely with the new heart framelits #125599 (yada yada yada)and I would get on my soap box so I finally double dogged dared her to create a card using the boy and girl on a bike stamp from the Take it to Heart and like a good big sister she embraced my challenge and my hat is off to her for creating such a nice card that I am sharing with you today. Please note, she used every stamp in the set on one card and the coordinating framelit and I don’t think the card would be as good without the boy and girl on a bike. I was lucky enough to actually receive the card in the mail because it is the only one she made- it is truly a unique one of a kind. Love the color combination of chocolate chip and cherry cobbler. Not sure what my next challenge will be for her but I am sure I will think of it soon.
