Strawberry Pie

2018_05_08IMG_3072  Happy birthday to my dear friend Karen.  I made a special card for her because I love her perfect strawberry pie that she showed me how to make so many years ago.  I started off by setting the stage with the cute strawberry and coordinating dot DSP from the Tutti- Frutti DSP #145606 collection.  To make the pie I cut the circle and scallop from crumb cake cardstock and the the Stitched Shapes #145372 and a coordinating Layering Circles #41705 dies.  I textured the top crust using the Basket Weave textured impressions embossing folder that will be returning to the 2018-2019 annual catalog. I used a real red marker and a thin coat of fine tip glue to add the strawberry gel to the pie.  The sentiment is from the Apron of Love #145835 stamp set.  Hope your birthday is as sweet as you and your pie Karen!

Sunshine on its way

I promise after tomorrow  I won’t post anymore sunflower cards at least for a while.  I love sunflowers and fall so I made today’s card using the Sunburst Thinlits #140617 and then recut the flowers with the various sizes of the Layering Circles Framelits #141705.  The center of the sunflower is cut using the now retired Beautiful Branches Thinlits.  I added a stem and a leaf along with a the sentiment.
