In honor of Patriot Day aka 9/11 or Sept 11 I am posting a patriotic card featuring red white and blue. Patriot Day is a holiday observed annually on September 11. It is a day dedicated to remembering and paying tribute to the 2,977 people killed and numerous people who were injured during the terrorist attacks on September 11,2001, in New York, Washington DC and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, in the United States.
Patriot Day is recognized by United States law as the official day of remembrance for these tragic events, and has been observed every year since the attacks. Although the attacks took place within the United Stated, the shock and grief experienced in response to the attacks was shared throughout the world, and for this reason Patriot Day 2017 will be observed, not only in America, but across the world. Traditionally, Patriot Day is viewed as a time of honor and remembrance. Annually, on this day, American flags are flown at half-staff. The United State President asks fellow Americans to observe a moment of silence at 8.46am (Eastern Daylight Time), the time of the first plane collision into the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

Today’s post features some retired Stampin Up products including the Maritime DSP, the Open Sea stamp set and the Advemture Awaits stamp set.
To all the members of the Armed Services…. Thank you for serving and making our world a better and safer place. To honor our veterans, I used all retired Stampin Up products to create a patriotic card. The Maritime DSP is used for all the layers. The world map is from the Going Global stamp set and the sentiment is from the Really Good Greetings stamp set.
After 24 years active duty in the US Naval nurse corp our sister CDR Blair Miles is officially retired and ready to start a new career outside the military. I used the now retired Maritime DSP and the Guy Greetings #137178 stamp set from Stampin Up.
The best part of retirement is the surprise party at her local microbrewery and all her friends, coworkers and subordinates turned out in force to pay tribute to a hard working officer and surgical nurse. I have included the crafty handiwork for her parting gifts and cake. All beer themed of course and very creative.
Fair winds and following seas baby sister!
Check out these super cute mini beach totes made using a piece of the Stampin Up Maritime DSP and coordinating cardstock. These little totes are the perfect favor for a beachy theme event or even for the 4th of July. The Maritime DSP is on the retired list but as luck would have it Stampin Up recently added it to the Stampin Up Clearance Rack at a rock bottom price.
Warning… These totes are addicting to make because they are simple and fun to make. Plus it is a perfect way to get rid of your scraps. They are perfect for candy and a gift card.

Continuing the posts this month by clearing out the old Stampin Up products to make room for the more fun stuff in the all new Stampin Up 2015-2016 annual catalog. Todays card features the now retired Maritime DSP that I coupled with the Guy Greetings stamp set #137178. This card is masculine in nature but the sentiment works for anyone in your life.
Our family loves all things nautical. Or dad was a USNA graduate and our sister is currently serving as a nurse in the US Navy so today’s card is a tribute to all sailors.
The background DSP and the hand cut banner are from the Stampin Up Maritime (now retired) DSP. The sentiment is from the Adventure Awaits (now retired) stamp set and then cut into a circle using the Stampin Up Circles Collection Framelits #130911. Cammie added the embossed Anchor from the Guy Greetings #137178 stamp set.
Today’s card is a fun card I made for a friend of mine, Cathy, who is going on a cruise with her friend and her son, Time, who has Downs Syndrome. Tim is a great and fun loving guy who has always wanted to go on a big boat and use the hot tub on board. Well Tim’s wish has been granted and he is going on a carnival cruise with 2 great gals and will have the adventure of a lifetime. So I made Tim this card using the Stampin Up Maritime DSP #133693 and the Traveler #134510 stamp set.
Anchors Away Tim!
