What’s all the buzz about? Tomorrow, August 1st the Stampin Up Holiday catalog is available for preview and ordering. It is so exciting so stay tuned tomorrow and I will be posting the new catalog on our blog. If you would like a hard copy, please email me privately at firstname.lastname@example.org with your mailing address and I will send one to you via snail mail.
Onto today’s post. This is a fun card Cammie made that features the Honeycomb texture folder #129378 as the background. She added the hand cut bees from the now retired Nature Walk stamp set but any set with bees would do. She added the sentiment by finding a the word “just” in any stamp set she had and then used an alphabet stamp set to create the “cuz”. The card was finished by wrapping a ribbon and tying it off with a knotted bow.
Cammie has really mastered brayering. She made today’s card by lightly brayering the sky in various shades of blue. She then used the Flowering Flourishes #126367 stampset to add the flowers. She added a butterfly from the now retired Nature Walk stampset but any butterfly would do. To finish the card she added lots of layered cardstock and a partial top note #113463 and a piece of pumpkin pie ribbon and an old olive button.
Cammie was inspired by the sheer beauty of the Swallowtail butterfly #129216 background stamp to create a quadrant of this beautiful frame that she gave to a friend for her birthday. The other sections of the frame were actually smaller versions of cards that have been previously posted on this blog.
I have several of these frames and am now inspired to make them up but I just need to find the time to dedicate to a project like this.
Today’s card is swarming with lots of fun Stampin Up products. The background paper fooled me. For the life of me I could not figure out what DSP Cammie used. I should have known better- She created it herself using the Summer Silhouettes #126447 and then she ran it through the Honey comb folder #129378that was inked in black. For the Mason jar, Cammie used the soon to be retiring Stamp set and framelit Perfectly Preserved #126692and then brayered various shades of yellow to create the honey. Cammie added bees that she stamped from the retiring Nature Walk #121997 stampset and then hand cut them and scattered them about. She finished the card by adding linen thread to both the jar and the card front.
One great think about cardmaking is the ability to CASE (Copy and Share Everything)other demostrators artwork and this is exactly what Cammie did for this post. Refer to Michelle Zindorf’s tutorial for detailed instructions http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2012/05/23/watercolored-butterfly-tutorial-510/
