Worlds Best Birthday

Today’s post is a version of my masculine birthday cards I made for some of the manly birthdays.  I used the direct to paper technique and added daffodil, gumball and marina mist inks randomly on the card front.  I then heat embossed in black ink the World Map #130345 background stamp.  I then used a circle framelit to cut a hole in the card front.  On a piece of very vanilla cardstock, I stamped the Gorgeous Grunge#130517 in daffodil and then used black stazon in to stamp the sailboat from the Open Sea #123032 stampset.  I colored the water and the boat and then placed the piece under the card front.  I finished the card by adding the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Banners #126257 stampset and the coordinating Bitty Banners framelits #129267.

Peace on Earth Flip card

2013_12_12DSCI0435 They’ve been called flip cards, flip flop cards, swing cards, and more-but they have always been a bit tricky to create. Not anymore! Our amazing new Thinlits Card Dies cut and score to create a card that flips in just one step. Today’s post is a nice Christmas card that Cammie made using the fabulous Circle Thinlit card dies from Stampin Up # 133480. The background DSP is retired and the world stamp is from the Open Sea #123032 and mounted on a piece of silver foil sheets #132178 and embellished with various sizes of rhinestones.

2013_12_12DSCI0436 The flipside is the Peace on Earth sentiment embossed in silver.  These cards look complicated to complete but the beauty lies in the Thinlit dies and makes it a breeze.

Open Sea CASE

2013_11_04IMG_3792Masculine cards are always hard for me to create so for today’s card I reached for the 2013-2014 Stampin Up annual catalog and on page 101 I decided to CASE (Copy and Steal Everything) this card using the Open Sea stamp set #123032. I chose more traditional nautical colors and scraps that were on my table for my card and added the port hole with the compass stamp peeking through.  The sailboat was stamped and then cut using the Labels Collection Framelits #125598.

It is always fun to find inspiration in the Stampin Up catalog or any other resource to make a card.

Brayered Beauties

2013_06_18Cammie combined various shades of blue Stampin Up inks to brayer the ocean used in these 3 similar but different cards.  The flourish is from the Everything Eleanor #124164 stampset and accented the flourish with the must have for brayering white gel pen#105021.  Cammie also added the images from the Open Sea #123032 stampset.  To add some fun Cammie create a compass using the bottlecaps.   These cards are examples of what you can do with ink and a brayer.  Cammie will be teaching a brayer class in Columbus Ohio on August 3rd.  Cost is $100 and you get all the inks, tools, and other consumables to create 3 fabulous card using the brayer techniques and you get to bring all the supplies home to use the brayering technique on your own.  Email Cammie for details and payment- Cammiet@att.net .

Imagine the Possibilities

2013_06_14DSCI0259 Today’s card is a masculine card that Cammie created using scraps of DSP.  The card base is black and then a strip of the Stampin Up silver glimmer paper #124005 that was slanted and then a strip of black cardstock served as a mat for the strip of Epic Day This and That DSP #130814 from the all new Stampin Up Annual catalog.  Cammie used the Open Sea #130232 stampset to create a really easy and masculine card.

Ahoy Matey

Today’s post is the card I made my son for his 16th birthday.  This card showcases mostly Stampin Up products but when I saw the pirate stamp I had to have it too.   Background is a collage of scraps that were laying amuck on my worksurface and the scallop border was cut using the tasteful trim die #120893.I added a piece of 1 1/4 inch ribbon in chocolate chip. I used the center section of the new paper doily die#125592 from the Stampin Up occasion mini and accentered with a glimmer brad #121003 and the world was stamped with the Open Sea stamp set from last years summer mini.  To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment on the Four Frames and then punched using the decorative label punch #120907.  I know I enjoyed this finished card way more than the birthday boy!

Peace on Earth

I was stopped in my tracks when I saw this fabulous card from fellow Stampin Up demonstrator, Carrie Gaskin, that I had to duplicate it for myself.  A year ago the Medallion stamp #115223 was my favorite stamp and I dusted it off again this year to prove what is old is new again! I used the world stamp from the Open Sea #123032 and colored it with blender pens. The banner was cut from the petal cone die #121810 and stamped with the Four the Holidays set #116921.  The hanger is from the top of the ornament punch #119847 and a a ring from circle punch and finished with a bow from real red gross grain ribbon #109034.  The color scheme of this card is not a typical Christmas scheme but really brings home the earthy tone of this card- let there be peace on earth and good will to man.

Go Navy Beat Army

The 3 sisters2stamp family has a strong military background and a love for the US Navy.  Our father was a USNA grad as was our Uncle.  Currently, our  baby sister is active duty Navy and stationed in Bethesda MD.  So todays post is to send a shout out to Navy to beat Army in the classic Army Navy game.   This card features the Nautical DSP, and the Open Sea Stamp set, both no longer available.  The anchor is stamped on my favorite accent piece- the designer frame embossing folder#123130 and the knotted rope.

GO Navy!

You mean the world to me

This post is a tribute to my father -in-law, Bob Morgan, who turned 80 in September.  To honor him we threw a big bash, I made him this birthday card and an MDS book to chronicle his life.  This card uses the Nautical DSP, the Open Sea stampset (both retired) and the Pennant punch.
