Twirly Whirly Birthday

2013_08_02IMG_3369 I have always loved pinwheels since I was a young girl.  They remind me of summer and fun carefree days. So when Stampin Up introduced the pinwheel die with the spring occasion catalog I was blown away and snatched it up super quick.

I love the pinwheel die and the Wishes Your Way stampset that were retired with the spring catalog but I paired old set with the new Mosaic Maddness #130249 stampset and the yummy Quatrefancy Specialty paper and love how cute it turned out.

Elegant Pinwheel

2013_05_24DSCI0095 Today’s card is another twist on a pinwheel card.  Cammie hand cut a piece of the Print Poetry DSP #129312 to add the pinwheel #129411 cut from a scrap of summer starfruit DSP.  She finished the card by adding some midnight muse and summer starfruit double stitched ribbon.  The Sentiment is stamped using the Wishes your Way #129156 stampset.

Twirly Whirly Birthday

2013_05_23DSCI0111 Cammie used yesterday’s card as her inspiration to step it up.  Instead of a plain background she textured the white using the Cloudy Day embossing folder # #127022 from the Stampin Up Spring catalog.  She cut an oval from the chevron paper in the Sunshine and Sprinkles  DSP using the Ovals Collection Framelits #129381 and added her pinwheel cut from a scrap of Sprinkles and Sunshine DSP #126922 using the pinwheel die #129411 and the center is a dahlia #127556.  The pinwheel is mounted on a cluster of kiwi kiss strips. The sentiment is from the Wishes Your Way stampset #129156 and then handcut into a banner.

Easy Pinwheel

This week we got the meet the teacher and back to school information in the mail.  That makes me sad and my son even sadder because that means the lazy days of summer will soon be behind us.  Today’s card is a tribute to summer – a pinwheel is a true icon of summer.  This card is easy to make and is perfect for using up scraps.  The background is textured using the all new Fancy Fan Folder #127751 from the Stampin Up catalog.  The pinwheel is created by punching 4 – 1 1/4 inch squares #119865  from different DSP patterns, Round the corners using the 3/16″ corner rounder punch #119871 then cut them diagonally and form the pinwheel shape.  Add a center using the smallest of the Floral Frames Framelits #127012 and the Itty Bitty Punch #118309.  This card is the perfect card to send as an RAK (Random Act of Kindness) card to brighten anyone’s day.

Classic Pinwheel

Cammie stepped outside the color comfort box with today’s post.  Pastels are not a favorite color selection for Cammie but some of her customers scream for her to use more pastels in her workshops.  This was the final card in Cammie’s sweet workshop and focuses on the pinwheel stamp from the Stampin Up Sweets for the Sweet stamp set #122512.  The card front is a  pool party monchromatic look stamped with images in pool party ink. The pinwheels are stamped on whisper white cardstock using calypso coral and pool party ink.  These pinwheels are layered with a stamped and fuzzy cut coording pinwheel image fastened with a brad. The whisper white is layered on a piece of pool party and calypso coral cardstock and tied with a bow using calyso coral ruffled ribbon #122976 and a designer printed brad #122940.

Pennant Pinwheel

This card was created because one of my favorite customers (who shall remain nameless) wanted to learn how to create a pinwheel from paper. She was happy as can be to learn how easy peasy it is to create a pinwheel from two sided paper.  I hope she takes my challenge and makes pinwheels in all sizes. How simple is this card?  Go ahead and start making pinwheels you’ll be glad you did.  Send me your pinwheel creations and I’ll post them.  More pennants tomorrow.
