School House Rocks

2015_09_19IMG_9079

For todays post I wanted to show off the fun colors in the Stampin Up School House DSP #138187. I used the Bow Builder #137414 punch to make the sweetest coordinating bows for each card.  I finished by adding a sentimement from the Fabulous Four stamp set #134171. This set has Four fabulous phrases, four ways to say just the right thing. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, saying thanks, or wishing someone well, these images help you say what you want to say.

Bike Birthday

2015_09_15IMG_9086 Happy birthday to my 84 year old Father In Law! I created this card with him in mind because back in the day he had a classic Schwinn bicycle so when I saw this print in the Stampin Up Schoolhouse #138187 DSP paper pack I knew that I would be using it for Bob’s birthday.  For the sentiment I paired the Stampin Up Hello You Thinlits #137363 with the Guy Greetings #137178 stampset.  I added gears punched from the now retired Gear punch to create a fun and masculine birthday card.

Oh Boy OH Boy- How Fan{stache}tic

2015_09_09IMG_90712015_09_09IMG_9072

Today’s card is a fun interactive card I made for my friend who will be a grandma to twin boys.  I used the now retired Circle Card Framelits die for the base.  I added a piece of the Stampin Up Schoolhouse #138187 DSP. I cut the letters using the Little Letters Thinlits Dies #133730 and the Mustaches were cut using the now retired .Mustache thinlits.  The baby was just a 1″ circle punch with hand drawn face.

Twin babies will be Fan{stache}tic for grandma because she can spoil them and send them home!

Back To School

2015_09_06IMG_9089 When I opened the Schoolhouse DSP from the Stampin Up catalog I knew I was going to use the ABC sheet and make back to school cards.  Our whole adult family loves back to school time because that means shopping for cool school supplies. I mean you are never too old for paper, pens, clip boards, Sharpies, staplers etc or are you? I also knew that I wanted to use the Stampin Up For the Teacher stamp set that I ordered over 3 years ago and never used.

So I set out to make a card for my friend that is a dedicated 1st grade teacher.  I messed around with the stamp set and could not come up with a design so I googled and blogged and alas I found the cute idea for the clip board and pencil on a fellow demonstrators -Pink Buckaroo, blog. I combined her layout and was able to use my For The Teacher stampset.  The fun feature for the clipboard is that I used the silver foil paper from Stampin Up and the Scalloped Tag Topper #133324. For the pencil I used the Handpicked Framelits #137361.  Thanks for the inspiration Pink Buckaroo.
