Stepped Up 4th

 Happy Birthday USA!!!

Back in January when Stampin Up introduced the Irresistibly Yours DSP as part of their annual Sale-a-bration Campaign I fell in love with this paper and knew that I would be using it for my 4th of July cards. So I made the simple card as my sample.  The sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up set called Seasonal Sayings but any current set would work. So, when the time came for me to make my 4th of July cards I pulled out the sample and thought it needed something else so I just stepped up my design by adding a layer of 3 stars and make it just a little more patriotic!!

Although the Stampin Up Irresistibly Yours DSP is no longer offered, they did introduce the Color Me Irresistible DSP as part of the Specialty DSP pack. The Color Me Irresistible collection has the Whisper White embossed sheets that you can color using any inking technique as well as colored sheets with the embossed look.  Be sure to check it out.

 

Magnificent Maple

 I needed some fall thank you cards so I inked up the Magnificent Maple single stamp #131868 and stamped them in 4 colors and created a four panel card.  I textured the soft suede cardstock with the Woodgrain textured folder #127821.  I added the sentiment from the now retired Seasonal Sayings stampset and wrapped it with twine.

This card was a simple design but turned out great mostly in part because the Magnificent Maple stamp is the perfect fall leaf stamp.  This stamp is available in the Stampin Up holiday catalog and will not be available after 2 Jan 2014 so if you have been looking for the perfect leaf stamp get it before it is too late.

Butterfly Celebration

Happy birthday to my niece, Alexandra who is celebrating her 18th birthday today! Today’s post is  another  one of the cards that I made for my spoiled friend’s birthweek celebration in December and am just getting around to posting it.  This card has a border of hand cut Papillion Potpourri  butterflies stamp set #123759.  Each butterfly was embossed and then colored with In Color markers.  The expression is from the Seasonal Saying stampset that is no longer available.

Happy Thanksgiving

 Happy Thanksgiving one and all.  I used a simple concept that I saw in the Stampin Success catalog for demonstrators.  I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits #127003 to create a hole in the card front.  I stamped the sentiment using the Seasonal Sayings stampset #128009.  I cut out leaves using the Autumn Accents #127812 and the Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper #126895.  Hope your Thanksgiving is filled with lots of blessings.
