It is truly Christmas in August. I am posting a second post today because I am thankful that Stampin Up has finally introduced Christmas and Holiday stuff with their new Holiday catalog.
Today’s post is a fun thank you card I made using the Secret Garden #129144 stampset. I paired the Secret garden set with the fabulously fun Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape #129314. I am having so much fun playing with the washi tape and adding it to cards, scrapbook pages etc. I am working on a developing a Washi tape workshop for a class next month so stay tuned. I plan to use all the new washi tape available in both the annual catalog and the holiday catalog to creates some fun projects.
I have been on a kick lately to use the beautiful Stampin Up DSP instead of coveting it. So I made this card using 3 designs of the now retired Tea for Two DSP and the Vintage Verses stamp set that is also retired. The flowers are from the Secret Garden stamp set available in the all new 2013-2014 Stampin Up annual catalog. The wonderful thing about using the DSP from a collection in Stampin Up is that it was designed to work together with the inks, ribbons and embellishments. In doing so it takes the guess work out of the equation.
One of the best gifts that I have received came from Cammie is a bundle of thank-you cards including this super cute design. The design used on all 4 of these is the same but the color selection and DSP gave each one an individualized look. The Stampin Up stampsets used were Secret Garden which has coordinating framelits and will be carried over in the new annual catalog debuting on June 1st. The sentiment is from the Wacky Wishes hostess set that is retiring on May 31st.
Since Cammie is still on her tropical vacation for a few more days we are continuing with the tropical/ beachy posts until her return. Today’s card is one that Cammie did that is packed full with techniques and product mostly from the Stampin Up spring catalog. The background of this card uses the Oh hello #130733 stampset and bleach on river rock cardstock. Then the Mambo frame was stamped using the mambo ink and the Oh Hello stamp set. The center was cut out using the oval framelits #129381 and the flowers were embossed on watercolor cardstock in black powder using the Secret Garden Stampset #129144, then the flowers were colored with blender pens and mambo, tangerine tango and pumpkin pie inks. The flowers were cut out using the Secret Garden coordinating framelits #129372. The card was finished with a piece of ruffled ribbon in lucky limeade.
Cammie made sympathy cards using this design but she also made birthday cards by swapping out the sentiment.
Today’s card is another birthday card that I received from my crafty friend, Sherry Rider. The card uses some of the fresh products from the Stampin Up spring catalog. The card uses the Printed Poetry paper stack #129312, the fabulous Secret Garden stamp set #129144 and the coordinating framelits #129372. Sherry added the Elegant Butterfly punch to bring this card to life.
Today’s card is another one using the burnishing technique and the Secret Garden stampset #129144 from the Stampin Up spring catalog. Cammie used the color pallette of daffodil delight and pumpkin pie to sponge onto the embossed images. The popped flower is cut out using the Secret Garden coordinating framelits #129372.
Check out what a difference changing the inks can be to create a completly different look.
Happy Birthday to our friend, fellow blogger and Guest Designer Yvonne Crook. Today’s card is the birthday card that Cammie made for Yvonne. The card uses the Secret Garden stamp set #129144 from the Stampin Up spring catalog.
Cammie masked off a strip using post it notes and then embossed a few flowers randomy and then sponged (burnished) with Tangerine Tango and Melon Mambo inks. Once she got the desired look she removed the masks and stamped more flowers added the sentiment and popped a flower to complete the beautiful card for a beautiful friend.
