Shine On Silver Star

Today’s post is all about the now retired Stampin Up Shine On DSP, which was my favorite DSP in the Stampin Up Occasions catalog.  I used the Sunburst Thinlits #140617 to cut the rays of sunshine from the smokey slate and the Shine On DSP.  The clouds were hand cut from a piece of the Shine On DSP.  I added a layered star cut from silver foil using the Star Framelits #133723 and randomly scattered bling to complete the card.

There are no words

I love these 2 cards because of the simplicity but most of for the sentiment from the Stampin Up Rose Wonder #140697 stamp set.  I used the fabulous but now retired Shine On DSP #140579 for the main layer.  I cut 2 leaves from the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies #140619 and then stacked lots of punched flowers from the retired Itty Bitty Punch Pack complete with rhinestone centers.  I stamped the sentiment and then hand cut it into small strips,

Dream Big!

Today is a bittersweet day.  It is the last day to get any items from the 2015-2016 Stampin Up annual catalog or the Stampin Up Occasions catalog before the new 2016-2017 annual catalog goes live tomorrow.  For today’s card post I am featuring 2 of my favorite things from the occasions catalog that will not be carried over.  The Shine On DSP and the Enjoy the Little Things stamp set will be gone but not forgotten.

Sparkle and Shine

Happy birthday to my Mother In Law, Marilynn.  When I saw the Stampin Up Shine On #140579 DSP and the Sparkle and Shine #140730stamp set I knew that I would be making a a card for her with these two products. Marilyn loves all that sparkles and usually can be seen wearing a shirt with bling so this is the perfect card for her.  I drew my inspiration from the sample in the occasions catalog for the tag.  I added the tag to the card front along with a strip of coordinating DSP or cardstock and a strip of the glimmer Washi tape (retired). I added rhinestones and sequins to bling it up and give the card the right amount of sparkle!  Happy birthday Marilynn!

A Great Big Birthday Shout out to our dear Friend Cathy Hankins.  I used the card sample on pg 51 of the Stampin Up Occasions catalog and switched a few things to make it my own.  The card features my favorite DSP, Shine On #140579 as the background layer. For the focal panel I stamped the sentiment from the Love You Sew #140640 stampset and then added the  numbers cut from Large Numbers Framelits #140622 and secured it down with a couple of pieces of Washi Tape.

Happy 29th {again} Cathy!

Shining Bright

I am so sad that the Shine On DSP #140579 is not being carried over from the Stampin Up Occasions catalog.  It is so beautiful because the designs are printed on Kraft paper with silver foil designs on one side.  The catalog images really don’t do this paper justice.  I used the non shiny piece for the background layer and then added a piece of gold satin ribbon I then cut flower and leaves from the Stampin Up Botanical Builder Framelits #140625 and added pearls to the center.  The sentiment is stamped from the Rose Wonder #140619 stamp set and then cut using the coordinating Rose Garden Thinlit #140619.

Shine On!

For today’s post, I started out using my favorited DSP in the Stampin Up Occasions catalog and about to be retired -Shine On DSP #140579. The pictures in the catalog do not do this paper collection justice.  Each sheet is double sided for double the creative options. Kraft paper with colorful designs on one side amd Kraft paper with silver foil designs on the other side.

For the Frog I used the Playful Pals Bundle #141069 that includes the Playful Pals Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Pyramid Pals Thinlits.  Using the Playful Pals stamp ser is like playing like Dr. Frankenstein and building your own creatures. But in this case, the lab is your home, the science is a stamp set, and the creatures are whimsical pets that will be adored by one and all. Combine images to make an elephant, chick, monkey, dog, frog, and pig. That’s just for starters—turn your imagination loose and see what else you can make. The coordinating Pyramid Pals Thinlits Dies allow you to make  your own playful paper animals and treat boxes with these Thinlits dies and the Big Shot.

Once the frog was complete he was mounted on a lily pad is cut in two layers [watermelon wonder and botanical vellum(retired)] using the soon to be retired Floral Framelits #127012 and then I added leaves cut fro the Botanical Framelits #140625.

Lots of products and steps were used to make this “Hoppy Birthday” card for my frog loving friend.
