Snow much in October

2013_10_25DSCF2629 Today’s post is appropriate for those of us living in central Ohio.  Yes it snowed already in central Ohio.  The snow did not last long but even so there should be some weather rule that there is no snow until Christmas.  Speaking of Christmas, it’s the 25th of the month and only 60 shopping days until Christmas so by now you should be getting a jumpstart on your Christmas cards too.

Today’s card uses all retired products (except for the red glimmer paper) but it worked up quickly and could easily be adapted with what supplies you have on hand.

Bronze snowflake

2013_02_25merrybronzesnowflake Well its the 25th of the month and that means it is time to post another Christmas card.  Sorry for the blurry photo but I still think you may like the card.  The background is a piece of DSP from the festive fun paper pack (no longer available) I used the cherry cobbler Coredinations cardstock and embossed it with the vintage wallpaper texture folder #120175.  I cut a circle from a piece of DSP and added the Snowflake cut from the bronze glimmer paper using the Snow Flurry die #127813.  The center of the snowflake is adorned with pearls.  I finished the card by wrapping it with cherry cobbler bakers twine and a tag.

Non Traditional Christmas Card

Today’s card (sorry for the poor quality photo) is a non traditional card that includes no stamping.  I used the Northern Flurries textured folder and then cut it into 1 inch strips and then made the strips into  banners.  I added a piece of ancient ribbon and a snowflake die to complete the 5 minute card.  Christmas time is a great time to use up old product because of the large number of cards that most of us need to make at one time and just because the product is retired does not mean it can’t be used.  I finished the look by adding varies sizes of pearls to the textured snowflakes.

Bronze is the new Gold

I cannot believe that this card did not post.  Not sure what happened.  So I am trying it again today.

This card features the new champagne glimmer paper #127885 ( Icall it Bronze)paper and the all new Snow Flurry BigZdie #127813from the new Stampin Up not so mini Holiday Catalog. The Champagne Glimmer paper shines brightly when combined with Cherry Cobbler and the Be of Good Cheer DSP #126896 from the Annual catalog.

I love how this card turned out and plan to have it in my holiday Christmas card lineup.

Simply Sent Christmas

What can I say but wow!  These are the cards that Cammie created for her Santa workshop for the PTO moms.  All the pieces  were precut and packaged in the cute bagolope (see yesterdays post) to create these Christmas cards.  The base of these cards were the cards from the Simply Sent Everyday Elegance card kits #122377.  To creat the Joy , Cammie used the candy cane and holly from the Stocking Accents die # 124099 for the J and Y.  The O was punched using the 1 3/4 inch Circle punch #119850 and the Snowflake punch #119852 with a silver brad in the center.  Please note that the candy cane and holly berry both used the yummy red glimmer paper #121790 to add extra bling effect.

The baja blue card was simply created using snowflakes cut from the Northern Frost Sizzlet strip #120901 in whisper white and silver glimmer paper #124005 and adorned with pearls #119247 and rhinestones #119246 to create an elegant holiday card.  The greeting is stamped on the sticker label included in the everyday elegance card kit.

These cards will be sure to WOW.

Stocking Bag olope

Cammie’s getting ready for her Santa workshop tomorrow with a group of PTO moms at a local church near Tulsa OK.  All the projects are going to be in this very cute bag using Stampin Ups in color cardstock in “non-traditional” Christmas colors.

Yes this bag started out as an ordinay brown paper lunch sack.  Just add a piece of Lucky Limeade cardstock #122926 cut to size and stamped with lucky limeade ink #122935 using the simple snowflake stamp #115554 from the StampinUp ala carte collection. Add a stocking cut from the Holiday Stocking die #124098 using Island Indigo #122923  for the stocking and Pool Party #122924 cardstock for the toes, heels and cuffs.  Embellish with a whisper white #100730  snowflake using the snowflake #2 die #113460.  Accent with a coordinating designer printer brad #122940 and a pice of  ruffled ribbon in lucky limeade #122977. Punch a hole in the bag using the Extra Large Oval punch #119859.
