Frosty Storage

2018_01_15IMG_2930 When I saw these ziplock storage containers in the store it looked as though it was a kit to make a snowman.  Well I fell for it and bought it only to find that it was indeed not a kit at all.  I had to pull from my button stash to make the face and body.  I hand drew a carrot nose and cut it out.  I am so bummed that you cant see the felt stovepipe hat crafted by my husband but trust me it was good.  The best part is the containers were filled with white cheese balls that were perfect and yummy.  I gave the gift to my friend who loved it but I will think twice before falling for the advertising tricks.

Pinterest Snowman

I am not sure who the original designer of this card is because I have seen it all over Pinterest and on Stampin Up sites mostly as a Christmas card so I decided to make it into my Christmas and Winter Thank You cards.

The background DSP -Perfectly Artistic is free with a qualifying $50 order during  the Stampin Up annual Sale- A- Bration. Check out the other items available in the Stampin Up Sale -A-Bration catalog. The snowman is a simple punch art design using various Stampin Up punches.  The sentiment is from the Hello You Framelits #137363 and the Bitty Banner is handwritten to at a whimsical look.

Olaf Says Merry Christmas

2015_10_25IMG_8979I know it is not even Halloween yet and I am posting a Christmas card but it is the 25th of the month and that is what I committed to do.  Today’s card is a super cute and fun punch art snowman resembling Olaf from the fabulous Disney movie, Frozen.  I have seen lots of different versions of this guy so this is my version using an abundance of Stampin Up punches, and dies Oh My! Lots of pieces to create this guy but love how cute he turned out!

Frosty 2014

2014_09_25IMG_4701 Every year when I make my Christmas cards, I always include a snowman in my Christmas card lineup.  For today’s card I used up some very old snowflake DSP for the background and then I created the cutest snowman ever using the Stampin Up envelope punch board #133774 and various other Stampin Up punches and embellishments to decorate my snowman.  This card turned out so cute and was the hit at my Christmas club workshop!

2013_12_22_IMG_0107I love this card and it was one we made in my 6 six sided workshop.  Each snowman is a window but the bottom snowman is a window that is on the insided of the card when opened.  The snowman’s eyes are punched from the Owl Builder punch #118074, the nose is from the triple heart punch (retired) and then hand cut to form the nose.  The mouth is hand drawn.  The BRR sentiment is from a super old Stampin Up stampset and the background DSP is also retired but any seasonal DSP would work well.

BRRR Scrapbook page

My love for paper crafing started years ago when I started scrapbooking and even wondered how anyone could justify purchasing a stamp set to use on a scrapbook page.  Boy how times have changed.  I enjoy scrapbooking but it become a very social thing and we would go to our local scrapbook stores and crop or take classes and I met lots of friends and collected a whole bunch of stuff along the way.  Most of my scrapbook pages were creations from a class or a kit that I purchased so I could be armed and ready to go to put pictures on the pages when we decided to go out to crop.  Then one by one our local scrapbook stores closed and my group of friends that we took classes with for over 6 years decided to continue scrapbooking and the 4 of us would take turns designing a 2 page spread (or in the case of one smart girl buying kits), preparing it for the 3 others and teaching it.  Guess who had to go first?  I stressed so much over this page because when I rifled through my stuff, I did not have 8 sheets of the same color of 12 x 12 cardstock except for Stampin Up Wisteria cardstock that I ordered by mistake.  So I decided that is what I was working with.  I also knew that I wanted the page to be interactive using the telescoping snowman (see yesterdays post) for the journaling so my page quickly became a snowpage.  I used the snowflake from the season of friendship stampset #111776 to randomly stamp snowflakes on the wisteria cardstock base. I used 3 paper doilies cut from the paper doily die #125592.  I also made a snowflake on the left hand page by putting 2 lattice dies #115958 together and stacked a snowflake cut from silver glimmer paper using the northern flurry die #120901 and a wisteria designer printed brad #122940 in the center.  Title is cut using the silver glimmer paper and the simple letters die #115960.  I cut a scallop border on the RHS and stitched it with bakers twine using the blanket stitch.  I added mats in eggplant and stitched an X on each one. Added lots of rhinestones and pearls and made the telescoping snowman for journaling.

I loved how it turned out and wish it would snow in Ohio so I can add snow pictures!

Telescoping Snowman

I made this telescoping snowman card that folds open an builds the snowman. The mechanics behind this card is in the mini brads #122941 and the rest is pretty self explanitory.  However if you need more help just post a comment and I will offer assistance.  I loved this little guy so much that I used it as inspiration for a scrapbook page that I will post tomorrow.
