Sew suite birthday

My neighbor is an accomplished seamstress- a craft I am definately not good at and I always make her a sewing related card and today’s post is the card I made her this year.  It is definately a one of a kind card with lots of detail. I used a lot of products that I collect with sewing stuff and most of the stamps are from the sew suite stamp set that is retired.  I used a real pattern to stamp the pattern from the retired pattern piece stamp and then cut them.  I made the skirt from the scallop circle punch and cut buttons from the sweet buttons embosslits #121813 die and added an eyelet edge using the eyelet border #119853 and finished with a piece of tangerine tango pompom trim.

Some Pig

Our new neighbors impressed us with some smoked BBQ brisket that I had to send a thank you note and a hearty welcome to the neighborhood.  This card features the button buddies and stampset #122737 and the sweet buttons embosslit die for the pigs cute little nose!  I made a blue ribbon  by using the scallop punch and the scorepal to crease and then mountain – valley folded the creases to create the ruffled edge.

Button Up the Holidays Christmas tree

My recent Button up the Holidays Christmas in August workshop was centered around buttons.  I love buttons and especially love the Sweet buttons embosslit die and it is for cards like this that I wish I had more than one embosslit die to make preparation easier.  This card was the 2nd card at my Button up the holidays workshop and was not as easy as the card from yesterdays post but in the end it was worth the effort.  I especially loved the non traditional Christmas color combination that I used to create this card.

Layer 1: Elegant eggplant cardstock #105126 $6.95 embossed with the Stripes embossing folder #123128 $7.95

Layer 2:Wisteria Wonder cardstock #122922 $6.95

Layer 3:Use the Sweet buttons embosslit die # 121813 $11.95 from Lucky Limeade cardstock #122926 $6.95 and layer to form a tree shape.  I used about 4 complete sets to make the tree and a triangle to use as a base for the tree.  Use a piece of folded 5/8 ”  Chocolate Chip satin ribbon #124327 $8.95  for tree trunk. Adorn with rhinestones #119246, bird topper is from a retired die but could use a star or flower instead.  Stamp sentiment and use Jewelry tag punch 117190 $10.95 and tie with cherry cobbler bakers twine #123125 $2.95

This card will definately be repeated in other color combinations for my special friends on my Christmas card list
