Caw Caw Caw

2014_11_07IMG_5323 This card today is way to cute to scare any crows away. I made the card using the Top Note #113463 die from the Stampin Up annual catalog.  His hat was also done using 1/2 a top note and then notched with the Envelope Punch Board #133774. For his face, I used the various size circles for the eyes, the triangle punch for his nose and heart punch for his dimples.  I hand drew in his stitched mouth and nose.  For the hair, I cut strips of crumbcake cardstock and crimped it then tucked it beneath the hat.  I added the sunflower, made using the scallop die and slitting each petal and added the crow using the Stampin Up bird builder punch.  So cute and no stamping!

Who stole Christmas?

2013_12_26_grinchgiftcards In Whoville they say – that the Grinch’s small heart grew three sizes that day. And then – the true meaning of Christmas came through, and the Grinch found the strength of *ten* Grinches, plus two and so did Blair when she made these adorable Grinch giftcard holders for her corpsmen.  They loved them so much that they have them hanging in their workspace.  But then again who does not love the Grinch?  Blair made these using her favorite Big Shot die – the top note#113463.  She used Circles for the eyes and the beloved word window punch #119857 for the brows.  She textured the brim of his hat with the petals a plenty folder #116824 and hand drew his face.  She added a pocket on the backside using 1/2 a top note to tuck the gift card in.

You ARRRH treasured

I saw this card on a blog and sketched it out and knew I wanted to recreate it for my dear friend Ken for his birthday.  The sentiment inside (non- Stampin Up) says Ahoy Matey… Your ARRRH treasured.  This expression truly fits the friendship that I have with Ken and his lovely wife Sue so I created this card just for him.  The pirates head and mustache is cut from the top note die #113463.  The eye patch, his eye and the earring are cut from various circle punches, the nose is from the Owl builder punch #118074.  I used the 3 1/2 inch circle to get the general shape of the head scarf and then fussy cut it from a piece of scrap retired Under the Big Top DSP.  I added a piece of bakers twine to attach the patch and finished it with a piece of bling for the earring.

This card could also be used as a cute Halloween card or an invite to a come as you aren’t party!  I hope Ken likes this card as much as I enjoyed making it.  If he does not, he’ll just have to walk the plank!

Cupid Treats

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Anyone who knows us (and for those that don’t) knows that we love party favor and making treats for every occasion.  We live by a good theme and believe no party is complete without a party favor so today’s post showcases our treats.  My treats are the Cupid Hearts done using the Stampin Up Heart Framelits #125599 from the Stampin Up Occasions mini catalog  and the photo corner punch in 2 sizes cut from coordinating cardstock and DSP   The arrow is a piece of licorice in the very cute cellopane bag #124134.  I made these for my Febraury workshop and the gals loved them.  Cammie’s treat for her workshops were made using Cammie’s favorite Big Shot die- Top Note  #113463 and the two tags die #115954.  The top note cutie is folded compactly to hold 3 hershey kisses and the Two tag treat holds a dove chocolate.   Cammie’s treats were such a hit with her husband that he nicely asked her to make them for the “guys and gals” in his office.  The nice thing about these treats is that you can use up your scraps and make something cute.
