Perfect Pair Valentine

2014_02_1420140214_165621

Say it isn’t so, baby Blair made an adorable Pinterest inspired Valentine gift for her husband David.  She bought him a set of red pots and pans filled it with  perfect paired items like salt and pepper shakers, Gloves and seeds, Spoon and forks, candles and lighter, peanut butter and jelly and so and so forth.  Great idea for a great couple!

Valentine Breakfast

2014_02_14IMG_0788

No matter how old your kids get they like to feel special.  I purchased some donut holes from Tim Horton’s and created a cute tag to surprise my 18 year old son on Valentines Day morning.  I was sure to make the tag detachable so that he would not be embarrassed when he brought the party pack of donut holes in to 1st period AP physics class to share with the other kids.

I saw this expression on Pinterest and stepped it up a bit using the Stampin Up Circle Framelits #130911 to make the donut and the frosting was textured with the free decorative dots folder #133520 from the Stampin Up Sale-a-bration catalog.  I attached the donut to a tag made from the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch #133324 in the Stampin Up occasions catalog. I then handwrote the expression filling it in with cute shapes where appropriate.

In case you were wondering or can’t see the verse it says: Donut you know we love you a hole bunch!  I am pleased with how cute and simple (less than 10 mins to create)  this was to make and  I like it better than my Pinterest inspiration pictured here. Stay tuned later today for another Valentine post.

Valentine-Late entry

SAMSUNG Valentine’s Day is long over but I had to share a Valentine that Blair (sister #3) made.  It is rare that Blair provides blog input so I thought I’d share her simple craft!20130215_171212

Panda Hug

IMG_1118 This is the Valentine that I made for my sweet Panda loving son.  Yes he may be 17 but he has loved Pandas forever.  I wonder if he loves them because when I was a teen my bedroom was Panda wallpaper and lime green, black and white shag carpet.  So sad when we sold my mom’s house a few years back and the Panda wallpaper still intact- I am sure it was one of the first things to go.  Oh well, I saw a panda card on Pinterest that inspired me to pull out my Stampin Up punches and Framelits to create this cutie.  So happy to make cute punch art.

XOXO Case

2013_01_18DSCI0933Cammie used my last years Valentine card to CASE (Copy and Share Everything) her card using  Stampin Up  products.  The pink card base is textured using the adorning accents folder #125601 The XOX letters were cut from DSP using the Simple letterr dies and the 3D heart was cut 3 times using the Hearts a Flutter die  #130159 from the Stampin Up spring catalog. The letters were assembled on a strip of whisper white cardstocl and accented with a piece of pleated satin ribbon on the top and bottom of the main strip.  Cammie finished the card with a  peek a boo heart displaying the be mine sentiment.  I must say that I was flattered that Cammie chose one of my cards to use as inpiration to create her own version of this card.

Affection Collection Love card

2013_01_08kit2DSCI0919Today’s card is one of Cammies Valentine cards she is offering at her Valentine Card buffet.  This card features the now retired stamp set from the 2012 Stampin Up Holiday Catalog.  It’s always sad to see some sets go away when they were only available for a short time but the new Spring Catalog is online and has lots of wonderful choices.

Anyway, Cammie made her own DSP by randomly stamping the image on mambo cardstock.  She then stamped in various shades of red / pink the love sentiment from the Affection Collection.  The Melon Mambo Striped Organdy ribbon #129293 is new, fun and available in the Stampin Up Spring catalog.  This card really screams love!

Funny how Cammie and I think alike.  I was planning to use the Affection Collection set for my Valentines but I will have to mount mine first!

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentine’s Day to all our fellow bloggers.  No Valentines Day is complete without conversation hearts so today’s card post features the Candy Conversations Stamp #125560 from the Stampin Up occasions mini catalog.  Cammie did a great job creating this bright and cheerful card using the brights DSP stack.  To go along with the Conversation hearts theme, leave a comment on our blog on what you would put on your own custom conversation heart and what your Valentine plans are today (try and keep it clean).

XOXO

I was convinced that I was not going to make Valentines this year and was just going to make treats for a few of my special friends instead.  Then I made the mistake of going to our local Archivers store in Columbus and fell in love with the make and take card (in the center).  I loved it so much that I came home and made it my own and created two styles and two colors.  I loved how they turned out and decided my sisters and family members would get these.  Both of my cards use the new Adorning Accents textured folders #125601 from the Stampin Up Occasions mini catalog.  The Mambo pink one also features the SWAK ala carte stamp #120861.

Valentine Challenge

The fun thing that sisters like to do is tease and dare one another to do crazy stuff.  Well Cammie and I both received the Take it to Heart Stamp #125522 set for free from Stampin Up.  The stamp set is not one that I normally would have purchased because of the boy and girl on a bike.  I like vintage as much as anyone but there was something about this stamp that scared me but I loved the banner in the set and it was free so all is good.  Cammie kept talking up the stamp set and how it worked so nicely with the new heart framelits #125599 (yada yada yada)and I would get on my soap box so I finally double dogged dared her to create a card using the boy and girl on a bike stamp from the Take it to Heart and like a good big sister she embraced my challenge and my hat is off to her for creating such a nice card that I am sharing with you today.  Please note, she used every stamp in the set on one card and the coordinating framelit and I don’t think the card would be as good without the boy and girl on a bike. I was lucky enough to  actually receive the card in the mail because it is the only one she made- it is truly a unique one of a kind.  Love the color combination of chocolate chip and cherry cobbler.  Not sure what my next challenge will be for her but I am sure I will think of it soon.
