Flourish This Christmas

2016_10_25img_1262

Taking a break from posting fall and halloween cards and because it is the 25th of the month so it’s time for a Christmas card. The stunning  THis Christmas DSP #141628 from the Stampin Up annual catalog is so gorgeous that I wanted to showcase it.   I added a strip of retired ribbon, a piece of coordinating This Christmas DSP  and a strip cut from the Flourish Thinlits #141478. I created the poinsettia by stamping the image from the now retired Watercolor Winter and then hand cut the flower.  I added leaves cut from the Flourish Thinlits and popped the pointsettia on top of the 3 strips to make a stunning Christmas card.

Christmas in July2015

2015_07_25IMG_7417

Every July Cammie and I jointly host a Christmas in July workshop so that our customers can really get a jumpstart on their Christmas cards. So starting today and for the next 4 days we will feature Christmas cards that will be part of our Christmas in July workshop on the 26th of July.  Consider this a sneak peek of Christmas.

The Christmas in July workshop is the toughest workshop for me because I am just not ready for Christmas when it is hot outside.  I agonize also because Stampin Up has not introduced the full Christmas line up of new products so I challenge myself to use what ever I have on hand to make it Christmas.  So for today’s card I used a traditional color scheme of cherry cobbler and garden green for  my card. I textured the cherry cobble cardstock with the Stylish Striped Embossing folder #132174. I used the now retired Watercolor Winter stampset to randomly add pine branches on the focal panel.  I then cut an ornament from silver glimmer specialty paper using the Stampin Up Balloon Framelits #137362 The second ornament was stamped using the Celebrate Today #137138 and the now retired Good Greetings stampsets. The ornaments were popped on the card and then a string was hand drawn.  I am always happy to create a card using stuff I have on hand that is not for the intended use.

The Celebrate Today and the Balloon Framelits are a Bundle and Save 15% item from Stampin Up when the 2 items are purchased together using a single item #138869.

Oval Keepsakes

2012_12_12DSCresizedI0858  Todays card is a real beauty that Cammie made for her personal Christmas cards this year.  The oval frame is the center from the Scallop Oval frame (no longer available).  Cammie inked the whisper white cardstock with a combination of marina mist, tempting turquoise, and not quite navy to create the winter sky. The pine branches were stamped using the watercolor winter stamp set #129727 from the Stampin Up Holiday Catalog and the ornament was stamped, embossed and cut using the ornament keepsakes bundle #128051. The oval was then placed on a black apothecary framelit #127003 and a piece of cherry cobbler bakers twine accents the image.  The card base is the all new  cherry cobbler Core’dinations paper #127846 and embossed with Lacy Brocade embossing folder #127819.  This card is absolutely stunning!
