You + Me

2014_01_30IMG_0543 (2)

For today’s card, I wanted to create the look of love etched in a tree so I punched out a Full Heart #119883 from a post it note and put it on a piece of crumb cake cardstock.  I then inked up the woodgrain background #128763 and stamped the image onto the crumb cake cardstock.  I removed the heart mask and added the sentiment from Hip Notes #133504 stampset  and the arrow from the Geometrical stampset to give the etched look.  I matted it on a double layer of pink pirouette and early espresso cardstock.  I like it but don’t love it because it seems so flat but sometimes less really can be more!

Happy Thanksgiving

2013_11_28IMG_4044 Happy Thanksgiving!   I am so excited to unveil my Thanksgiving card because I “be-leaf” I did a fantastic job brayering and sponging all by myself!  I took the lessons from my sister, Cammie and brayered and have finally branched out on my own.  I added the woodgrain #128763 background stamp and then sponged to make it look like pieces of wood siding.  I used a piece of grossgrain ribbon and wrapped it with twine before adding the stamped sentiment from the Tags 4 You #131823 and punched with the coordinating label bracket punch# 132153.  I stamped the wonderful Magnificent Maple stamp #131868 in espresso directly on the woodgrain background.  I then brayed whisper white cardstock with reds and oranges and then stamped the maple leaf again and cut it out and popped it on top of the espresso leaf.  Wow I surprised myself with the finished card.  So I must say I am thankful for all the lessons that my sister / upline has taught me to bring me into the world of brayering.

The Tags 4 You and the Magnificent Maple are available in the Stampin Up holiday catalog. The Tags 4 You and the Bracket Label punch are available as one of Stampin Ups Bundle and Save options.  When purchased together (wood bundle #133593 and clear bundle #133294) you can save 15%.

Truly Grateful

2013_11_16DSCI0460 Most of today’s card is done using the Truly Grateful #131733 stamp set from the Stampin Up holiday catalog.   The card base is stamped with the woodgrain stamp #127808 and then the main panel is brayered and then stamped with the chevron background stamp from the Truly Grateful set.  Cammie embossed the wheat and hand cut it out and added a sweet little piece of bakers twine  to create a bundle of wheat.  She added the sentiment and finished the very nice Thanksgiving card.

Custom Stationary

2013_07_17DSCI0263 Our brother asked Cammie to make him some custom “manly” cards for him to have on hand when he needed to drop a note to a friend or family member.  Today’s card is the custom card that Cammie made for him using the Stampin Up Soho Subway DSP #130140 and the Morning Post Alphabet stamps #126592 for the monograms.  The Soho Subway is the perfect paper for our brothers cards because he loves the Soho District in NYC. The card base is stamped in espresso ink using the Woodgrain Background stamp #127808.

Secret Daisy

2013_07_03DSCI02492013_07_03DSCI0248 Today’s card is a card from Cammie’s masking 101 class.  The woodgrain heart on the background was done by creating a mask using the heart framelit #125599 and then suing the woodgrain #127808 stamp to make the heart.  The daisy was made using the secret garden framelit #129372 and then running it through the square lattice textured folder #119976.  Cammie stacked 2 daisys together and “fluffed” them to add dimension.  She added a flower button tied with a piece of Whisper white bakers twine #124262.  The stem was hand cut and then she added a hand cut banner with the appropriate sentiment to create this super cute and sweet all purpose card.

Hoppy Easter

Happ Easter one and all.  For my Easter card this year, I did a punch art card with the tail end of the bunny jumping through a hole in a tree that was stamped using the Stampin Up woodgrain background stamp #117100.  This background stamp is by far my favorite and one that I feel like I can actually use.  On the inside of the card the bunnies face is revealed and the sentiment I used is from the SAB set that says you make my whole face smile.

Hopefully your Easter egg hunt was a success and all the baskets were full of yummy stuff.  My son is 16 and he still loves for me to hide eggs with clues inside until he finds his basket full of loot.
