Typeset Birthday

2015_01_27IMG_5377 Today’s post is a fun one and a play on numbers birthday card using the fabulous Typeset #133704 DSP.  I added a piece of real red gross grain ribbon and the sentiment from the Just Sayin #133203 stampset and then cut with the coordinating Word Bubbles Framelits #132968 from the Stampin Up annual catalog.

This card is a quick and easy way to send to anyone with a milestone birthday or for those that won’t admit their age.

Something’s Fishy

2014_09_16DSCI0758 Today’s cards are the birthday cards that Cammie made for our brother’s twins birthday.  She made the pink girl version for Claire and the orange boy version for Dylan.  Cammie created the fish using punch art.  The fish body is from the large oval #119855, the tail is from the primitive heart (no longer available), the fins are from the modern label #119849 and the eyes are from the Owl Builder #118074.  Once she assembled her fish she used the white uniball Signo Gel pen #105021 and the all new Project Life Journaling pens #135304. She stamped the sentiment and then cut it out with the Word Bubbles #132968.  To create the ocean, she used tones of Blues and textured them using the woodgrain textured impressions embossing folder #127821 and then created the waves using the Large Scallop Edgelit #127019. Lastly Cammie added a Sun using a set of layered circles and sponging.2014_09_16DSCI0757 - Copy

Nesting Envelopes

2014_08_15IMG_3629 Today’s post was voted the favorite card from my “the envelope please” workshop that featured the fabulous must have Stampin Up envelope punch board #133774.  For this card I used now retired but ever so cute Birthday Basics DSP for this card.  Like all Stampin Up paper, each DSP paper pack all coordinates with one another so it makes planning a card easy.  The card base is a pouch made using the envelope punch board complete with file tab! The party hat envelope(also created with the envelope punch board) tucked inside the pouch is another card that holds a gift card.2014_08_15IMG_3633

The card is decorated with DSP and the sentiment is stamped with the Just Sayin’ # and then cut out using the coordinating Word Bubbles #132968 framelits. Finally the outer most mailing envelope was cut and lined using the envelope punch board.

This card was fun to create but even more fun to receive!

Crazy Kinda Love

2014_07_21IMG_3608 Love has really been in the air this year we have gone to more weddings this year then we have in the last several years combined.  This is a fun love card that I made for one of the showers I attended.  All stuff used on this card is available in the all new 2014-2015 Stampin Up annual catalog.  I started out using the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum #133363.  I used to struggle with using vellum because I did not like to see the adhesive thru the sheer vellum.  Now it is no problem when you use coordinating Washi Tape, Watercolor Wonder #133000 to secure it to the card base. From here I went a little whacky with embellishments.  I used the Just Sayin #133203 stampset and the coordinating Word Bubbles framelits #132968. The arrow was cut from a scrap DSP using the On Film framelit #132969 and the heart was punched using the Sweetheart punch #133786 and the little heart was punched from the Gold Foil Sheets #132622 using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack #133787.  I was not sure how I liked this card when I finished it because it was way out of my normal comfort zone but the twenty something crowd at the bridal shower thought it was hip so that was good enough for me!

Hats off

2014_05_31Cherry Cobbler tossed GRAD caps 2014_05_31Eggplant tossed GRAD caps Today my son graduates from High School. Woo Hoo.  Cammie made this card to  commemorate his day.

She used the Word Bubble framelits #132968 as a cloud template and sponged the sky. Cammie added the graduation caps from the Pomp and Circumstance #134168 and colored them with markers.  She added the main panel to the black On Film Framelit #132969 and a colored background to coordinate with the school colors.  The hands were stamped using the Morning Post Alphabet #126592 and then colored, hand cut and added to the card front.  She added the sentiment from the Just Sayin #133203 stampset that coordinates with the Word Bubbles Framelits.

The word bubbles framelits , the Just Sayin stampset and Pomp and Circumstance stampset are available in the Stampin Up occasions catalog until 1 June.

Hey there chick

2014_04_18IMG_1188Of all my Easter cards I made this year, I think this is my favorite.  I think it is because I love punch art.  Technically this is framelit art coupled with punches but I love it just the same.  When I saw this piece of DSP from the Watercolor wonder DSP, I knew I wanted to do an Easter Egg with it.  The basic egg shape was cut from the Ovals collection framelits#129381 and then I hand cut the “cracked” egg.   The cute little chick (head and wing) is made from the Starburst framelits #132967 in the Stampin Up occasions catalog. The eyes are punched from the Owl Builder punch #118074 and then I used the fun googley eyes (on the Stampin Up Clearance rack),  The beak is a modified Mosaic punch #131267. I added a bow in her hair using the now retired 1/8 ” taffeta daffodil ribbon.  The Hey there sentiment is from Just Saying #133203 stampset and the coordinating Word Bubbles framelits #132968.  The Just Saying and the Word Bubbles are a bundle and save item (wood #134819 and clear #134820).  When purchasing them together you can save 15%.

Hello sunshine

2014_03_24IMG_0890

It has been a long winter & spring break is here so that must mean we can expect more cold weather but if we think sunshine maybe it will come.  Today’s card is a fun one using the banner punch (free item) #133519 to create the sun rays.  The center of the sun was punched with a circle punch from the fabulous water color wonder DSP #132994 from the Stampin Up occasions catalog. The smoky slate background was textured using the Decorative Dots texturing folder (free item)#133520 and the clouds were cut using the Word Bubbles framelits #132968. I framed a whisper white cardstock strip with 2 pieces of Tangerine satin ribbon (retired item) and stamped the sentiment with the See Ya Later #133533 (free item) stampset to complete this al occasions card.

All the free items used in this card are part of Stampin Up’s on going sale-a-bration.  For every $50 spent in merchandise from the annual catalog, the occasions catalog, online clearance rack, or  MDS digital downloads you can earn free products from the Stampin Up Sale-a-bration catalog.  Sale-a-bration is not over yet but it will be soon- March 31st is the last day to take advantage of this great offer.
