Going Places

2017_06_19IMG_9498

Today’s card is one I made using all retired products from the Going Places product Suite from Stampin Up. I am working towards using up old stuff that I still love to make room for all the fun and new stuff in the new Stampin Up 2017-2018 annual catalog.

Dove of Peace

2015_12_14IMG_0123

Cammie made a beautiful Christmas card featuring the Stampin Up Dove of Peace Stamp set # 139800. She embossed the dove in silver embossing powder and then hand cut out the dove.  For the background Cammie embossed the Stampin Up World Map #130342 Background Stamp to create a vintage Christmas card.  The peace was cut using the Christmas Greetings thinlits #13965.

Choose the Road Less Traveled

2015_06_20DSCI0830 The Stampin Up World Map Background Stamp #130345 is the focus of this masculine card. Cammie distressed the background of this card using the Gorgeous Grunge #130517 to give the overall look of the card a vintage feel. She then layered the stamped world map securing it with Washi Tape and then added the sentiment from the Adventure Awaits stamp set (no longer available).

No matter where your travels take you, the vintage feel of the World Map stamp will make you feel like Magellan charting a new course to a far-off destination. Perfect for travel projects or just to give a vintage vibe, you’ll love where this image takes you.

Better Place

2014_05_20IMG_0824 For todays card I combined 2 stamps and the direct to paper technique to create this fabulous masculine or general purpose card.  First I chose about 4 color of inks (marina mist, midnight muse, old olive and so saffron) and randomly “swooshed” them across a piece of whisper white cardstock. I started with the lightest colors first. Once I covered the whole card front, I embossed the World Map#130345 in black powder. I then stamped the sentiment from the People Like You #133215 single stamp from the Stampin Up occasions catalog and then hand cut it out and then mounted it on a decorative label #120907 punch.  I added a piece of the super soft and sweet Marina Mist Chevron ribbon #130016.

World Traveler

2014_05_16IMG_1123 Sometimes I purchase a stamp set just for the sentiment or expression and today’s card is one of those sets.  I knew when I saw the The Happy Congratulations #133047 stamp set in the Stampin Up occasions catalog that I had to get it for the  sentiment.  So I paired the sentiment with the fabulous World Map #130345 background stamp.  I made a triple panel card and added a piece of yummy cherry cobbler chevron ribbon #130012 and a postage stamp image from the now retired Artistic etchings stamp set.

Here’s a cheer for my friend Mary’s birthday today and hope she has a safe journey to Puerto Rico for her vacation.

Worlds Best Birthday

2014_03_15IMG_0821

Today’s post is a version of my masculine birthday cards I made for some of the manly birthdays.  I used the direct to paper technique and added daffodil, gumball and marina mist inks randomly on the card front.  I then heat embossed in black ink the World Map #130345 background stamp.  I then used a circle framelit to cut a hole in the card front.  On a piece of very vanilla cardstock, I stamped the Gorgeous Grunge#130517 in daffodil and then used black stazon in to stamp the sailboat from the Open Sea #123032 stampset.  I colored the water and the boat and then placed the piece under the card front.  I finished the card by adding the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Banners #126257 stampset and the coordinating Bitty Banners framelits #129267.
